CutZy McCall Comes To Etsy, Bringing Color, Wit and Sensuality

My Etsy gallery is a story of commitment to and love of my great passion: Tech Modern Fine Art. When my husband died in a mountain-climbing accident in 2012, I was just beginning to transform as an artist. I had been using watercolors, pastels and enamel paints on Plexiglas (for a cutting-edge series called "Atlantean Visions," (also the name of my gallery in Rockport, Massachusetts). However, my grief led me to another, and for me even more exciting method of creating my favorite kind of art: Tech Modern (digital). It resonated with my personal style: vibrantly colorful and sensual. I have loved doing collage since childhood (hence my nickname, given to me by my husband James - "CutZy" - because I am always cutting images out of newspapers and magazines). Collage paired with computer software - manual and digital art together - freed me up to make just about anything my mind's eye could conceive. In my loneliness, since I was, for the most part, home all day doing art, I turned to an online social networking site I like to call "24/7 AP" (for Artists' Party). There I met dozens of other obsessively creative people who, like me, needed encouragement and support as we made new work every day, sharing, posting and keeping each other company. I started a community there called Tech Modern Artists, inviting some of the most gifted people in that field, from around the planet.

My tendency is to create series of work, with titles such as Women Of Color; Welcome To Las Vegas; Lips; Whorls; Abstracts; Faces; "Digital Doodles" and CutZy (paper) Dolls, as collage. I found that most of my digital work looked best on high-gloss, eco-friendly aluminum or coated paper. Luckily, I found top-notch printers for the transfer of my art to eco-friendly aluminum, and glossy postcards. Everything I do pops off the wall in this medium, thanks in large part to my artist-friendly printing companies. I have always wanted to have an Etsy shop. Now I'm stocking it with my cutting-edge goodies, in anticipation of wonderful Etsy collectors with a taste for the new, hip, sexy, colorful, jazzy, visionary, Pop and Tech. My greatest wish is to impart a joy for living and empowerment to women and men with joyous, exciting art. I call it "fine" art because it comes from deep inside, and it's always experimental, unique and surprising as it emerges. Cutting-edge art, that's what I do, for my collectors, and for our planet and our well-being - I try to make it sustainable, uplifting and beautiful. Take a look. And please, I welcome feedback. If you like my work, if you end up owning it, I want to know how it makes you feel. If you have suggestions about what you don't see here but would like to, let me know. One of the great things about Tech Modernism is that colors and sizes can be customized to suit your tastes, your spaces, your lifestyle. Thank you for being here, and thanks to Etsy for celebrating and encouraging the work and achievements of creative artists.
