About

I love to design and crochet whimsical and unique kippot.

I fell in love with the art of crochet when I taught myself from a library book at age 15. I was always crocheting, I even crocheted my prom dress (nerd, I know). Now I'm a grandmother and Im still crocheting. I was delighted this year, when I discovered ETSY as a way to showcase and sell my work. When my oldest granddaughter was invited to a Bat Mitzvah, I thought I would crochet her a kippah to wear to the ceremony. It came out so well and was such a big hit that I wanted to make more, and more and more. I have so much fun designing and creating these kippot . I especially enjoy when customers give me their own color and theme ideas. I've made everything from butterflies and peace signs, to dalmatians and sunsets. I make them in all sizes; adult, child, toddler and baby (with under the chin ribbon). When I pick up a tiny crochet hook and 100% cotton thread, Im so happy. I make them in between helping with my grandchildren, so I always say that each kippah absorbs a lot of fun and laughter and maybe a little naughtiness. Think of a cute theme and some fun colors, and I'll make one for you!

I like this quote:
''A hand-made kippah is special. The loving care that goes into it cannot be compared with the mass-produced item. Each hand-made kippah is unique, with tiny imperfections that are as essential to its beauty as the lines and knots in wooden furniture. We believe that making a kippah by hand is a form of hiddur mitzvah" (Kippa Designs)
