Cute as a Button
Almost eleven years ago, I found a wallet of crochet hooks and a single vintage crochet magazine under my bed. It was from my great grandmother's collection, that my mom had kept when she passed away a year before. She only kept one out of hundreds of pattern books, a fact that I was not happy when I found out years later. One day in the summer, I sat around and learned every stitch, I made funky shaped pieces out of yarn, that I intended to be squares, I made a vintage hat that was way too big, and I made a granny square blanket, that looked okay.
A few weeks later I turned to thread, and made a lacy doily. Its all history after that, crocheting in lace is what I was born for. I couldn't buy enough vintage pattern books. I couldn't find enough things to do with lace handkerchief edgings. My mom couldn't find enough places to put the doilies I was making.
Years later, after every end table of everyone I knew had a wonderful doily on it, I started to think of new things to do. Creating my own patterns from the lace patterns that I'd been using for years, I developed these wonderful little hair clips.
I love to crochet, I love fabric, and I love flowered patterns. I wear a cute hair clip or a bow in my hair everyday. Everything you see in my shop is a little bit of me.
Owner, Maker, Designer
I am an Art History Major and Crafts Minor at Kent State University. I love to crochet and have been crocheting like crazy since my grandma taught me to when I was ten years old. Making crafts is more than a hobby for me, its a way of life.
Your destination for cute as a button handmade hair accessories!
All products come from a smoke free pet free home. Items pictured are the exact item you will receive. Each one is different due to the hand crochet, hand gathering of fabric, and variety of materials involved.
I believe that there are certain things that are just better when handmade, they have a quality to them that machine made things just don't have. This quality comes from the love and care that is put into every stitch.

Damage and Ware:
Please be careful with your hair accessories. They are handmade, and while they are perfectly fine for everyday use, they will not stand up to excessive prodding. Please be aware of this when giving hair clips to children. Also be aware that the same rules that apply to toys apply to my hair clips. Buttons can fall off, and get eaten, so be careful that children under 3 wearing the hair clips do so carefully under supervision. Pinched fingers are a problem avoided by good supervision.
All hair accessories are made with color fast materials. Should your piece be soiled wipe with a damp cloth. Avoid storing in view of daily direct sunlight as colors will fade.
In some cases the hair piece depicted on this site is not the exact piece you will receive. But it will be made out of the same materials, it may have slight variations in size and shape due to the nature of hand crafted items, but this will be noted in the description. Custom items will also vary slightly from those depicted on this site, but any differences will be noted.
