Accents for you & your home, made with a love of color.
Sometime in college, I made a trade with a friend of mine: I'd do a photoshoot and Photoshop some vintage-style photos of her, she'd give me a book a hook and a pile of yarn. Eventually, I felt confident enough to tackle what I'd wanted all along: lace! I was also happily surprised by the vast colors of yarn available, and often use crochet to experiment with new color palettes.
When planning my wedding in 2011, I not only had a ton of fun designing all the decor, but loved how "me" everything felt on the day of the event! There's such a lovely feeling when a room looks just how you'd hoped, and the style of all the little details feels downright cozy, because it suits you so well.
(I also made doilies for table decor/guest gifts, which was a little insane to tackle along with everything else, but it's been really lovely to see them in everyone's homes since then! It also gave me the confidence to do them in quantity, if small quantities. ;)
While I adore the intricacy of old-fashioned doilies, I've never been big on white and pastels in general, and I decided I'd make my doilies in colors I'd never seen them done in before. I ordered thread in the brightest boldest cheeriest shades I could find, and, since my husband will only tolerate so many in our home, have posted them here to bring little pops of color and joy into your life too! Jewelry was suggested to me by a few people, and since I wanted some for myself anyway lol, I've developed a few designs to sell as well.
Care instructions are always included with your shipped item, which will be wrapped in plastic for protection, then colored tissue and yarn for cuteness, and shipped in a cardboard mailer or box. :)
I do all the things. :) All items are crocheted by my own two hands, it's me you're contacting for customer service, etc etc. In-progress on moving from Florida to North Carolina with my husband and our one-year old kiddo!
Items come from a non-smoker, cat-friendly home. I do my best to keep the cats away from the yarn, but one IS very fluffy. (All items do get a gently-soapy bath once finished, and are dried as far out of fur-range as possible.)
Feel free to convo me with any questions or requests! I love the challenge of customizing things, and it's a joy to be able to match a design to a person's request! (Please see additional information below.)
Gift-notes are free of charge! Just let me know in the Message to Seller at check-out, and I'll find some cute paper to write it on! All items are packaged in plastic for clean travels, then nicely wrapped in tissue and yarn. (Most will ship in a rigid cardboard mailing envelope, though occasionally I'll recycle a small cardboard box if needed for size.)
Accepted payment methods
- Accepts Etsy gift cards
Payment must be made within 24 hours of placing your order, or it may be cancelled.
North Carolina residents: Through hours and hours of effort, you will actually be automatically charged correct sales tax for your county! No worries for you at tax-time about owing them. You're welcome. ;)
International orders: If you're interested, please let me know and I can look into it for you! I do ship to Canada - these orders may take two weeks to arrive.
I will always try to keep shipping costs as low as I can for you, so I'll combine shipping whenever I can, and refund you any time the estimate is off. If you're purchasing items from both of my shops, make sure to point this out in the note to seller (in case I'm extra-blind that day), and I'll pop things in the same package for you!
I CANNOT take responsibility for any quirks in the mail system - once it's out of my hands, it's, well, out of my hands! I'm obsessive when it comes to packaging things carefully, but I have no control over what happens in either mail or weather systems, so if something is lost... you have my deepest sympathy, but I can't do anything more than you can.
Refunds and Exchanges
I cannot offer refunds for any fault in the mail system (damaged, late, or failed delivery).
Additional policies and FAQs
Custom orders will, by their nature, incur a delay due to production, and in some cases ordering needed supplies. Typically these orders will need to be paid for up-front. I'll give you the best estimates that I can, and keep you updated on timeframes - while I can re-arrange my schedule to get some extra crocheting time in, I can't make yarn companies send me supplies any faster. If you'd like something you don't currently see in the shop, just convo me - I haven't made a lot of scarves lately (having just moved to Florida), but that doesn't mean I don't love making them! :)
I use all-natural fibers whenever I can. I also do my best to avoid yarns that aren't comfy for everyday usage - so while there is often wool, I only use the scratchy-stuff in coasters and other things you won't (normally?) be wearing! Each listing will specify what kinds of fibers are in the yarn, and every item ships with a small tag indicating fiber content and care instructions.
Crochet items are all made from patterns that are either in the public domain (sometimes altered by myself), licensed for sale of finished products, or my own original patterns. I know pattern-designers need to make a living too, so I try my best not to step on anyone's toes, despite the murkiness of the internet's information! (That said, if you're a designer and you recognize something that I shouldn't be selling, PLEASE, let me know! I'll let you know where I found your pattern mislabeled.)
