5 out of 5 starsWow! This cyanometer is a work of art. I am torn between wanting to only display it or carrying it with me everywhere I go. Simply beautiful. Communication with the seller was fantastic. Arrived quickly and very carefully packaged. I will treasure this cyanometer forever.

5 out of 5 starsWhat a great experience - this cyanometer was intended as a beautiful gift for a friend. Paolo noticed this and went out of his way to make it special for the recipient, and was communicative and upfront throughout the entire process. It arrived on time and beautifully packaged. Thank you!

5 out of 5 starsPaolo's cyanotypes are absolutely beautiful! They also arrived quickly, and were packed in an extremely careful way; nothing bad could have happened to them during shipment. I'm delighted with these prints and can't wait to have them up on the wall. Thank you!

About CyanotypeHandprinted
A new personal artistic language: sometimes surreal, vivid like the matter, poetic.
I am an artisan working with recicled materials, making prints in cyanotype.
All my works are made by hand, with a careful attention to craft and meaning. I find resonance in the nature that surrounds me and little things happening every day. Those things that inspire me and could inspire you, will become my works.
I live in Lanzarote, Canary Islands (Spain, but off South Moroccan coast). The blue sky and the ocean have been the reason for me to change from my black and white photograpy to the wonderful prussian blue of cyanotype. The link from where I used to live, Liguria and Genova, and where I decided to live now, is the sea; in its changing colours and its depths I find the beauty of life. The sea that I have known in the 60's and '70s there in Liguria, is now here again. The power of hundreds volcanoes and the ocean treasures of Lanzarote always inspire me. I am finding here a new personal artistic language: sometimes surreal, vivid like the matter, poetic.
Cyanotype is a very unique photographic process. I prepare the photographic emulsion following the classic 1842 formula. The emulsion is UV sensitive so the exposure is made with the help of the sun. You need a black and white negative as large as the image you want to print, or objects to create a photogram. When developed, cyanotypes bring to life a wonderful Prussian Blue formed by the iron salts inside the emulsion. Developing a cyanotype is eco-friendly because you need only water, no chemical developer or fixer is used in the process. The Prussian Blue may fade when exposed to sunlight. Leave in a dark space to return to the original colour. A real cyanotype is like a living photograph!
I wish you a very nice day, and that you might find here something nice for youself or to gift to your beloved.

I live in Canary Islands, that are part of Spain but have a different tax legislation so, buying from this shop means that the object I post you goes through Customs even if you live inside EU (también para España peninsular).
