About

DGordon Designs + DEMORIAM

My jewelry collections are, handmade one at a time in my home studio located in North Carolina. Using a balance of traditional & unorthodox techniques & materials, my vision is to embrace the customer's individuality by executing limited runs. This encourages the line to always be evolving.

I love creating beautiful things. My Etsy store is my journey to provide like-minded people with high-quality artisan jewelry that I would want to wear myself.

Demoriam's line is handmade jewelry using silver, brass, bronze and copper along with cast skulls claws and teeth, found objects, religious symbolism, antique and vintage items. Delivering pieces that are familiar yet remarkably unique. Jewelry that has a touch of elegant macabre. The jewelry line is inspired by a fascination with mourning jewellery of the fifteenth to eighteenth centuries and Victorian fashions and spiritualism. Drawing on Renaissance, Baroque and Victorian art and ideas, I create contemporary ‘memento mori’ that raise our curiosity through the use of paradoxical processes and materials.

DEMORIAM | DUST TO DUST + BLOODMOON RISING

The Victorians were haunted by the supernatural. They delighted in ghost stories and fairy tales, and in legends of strange gods, demons and spirits; in gothic yarns of reanimated corpses and vampires. They were fascinated by the possibility of communication with the departed souls.

I started this collection for women who were not afraid to wear something a little more edgy and unconventional. I first started out designing for myself, but soon after I had family and friends and then people stopping me on the streets to commission pieces.

DEMORIAM | THE DELICATE FOREVER
One-of-a-kind jewelry made with all vintage and antique components.

Loving all things old, I love items that are worn, that have a patina, peeling paint, or rusting out, to me they cry out for attention or to be taken care of or loved by someone. I love to hold something old in my hand and wonder where its been , who owned it, and what STORIES IT COULD TELL! I love searching for special antique and vintage items to use in creating my jewelry for the delicate forever collection.

CHEROKEEMOON
. s o u t h w e s t e r n . n a t i v e . a m e r i c a n . s t y l e

Distinctive pieces that embody the spirit, quality and artistry of the American Southwest. Design components include fossil carvings, custom Sterling and Copper Pendants, Beads and Cones; custom traditional Pendants; Turquoise from Nevada, Arizona & New Mexico mines; and other semiprecious Stones from around the globe. Where appropriate, I will incorporate the work of select Southwest and Native American silversmiths, adding another dimension to my designs.

THE DREAM CIRCLE
. s a c r e d . s p i r i t u a l . a d o r n m e n t s

Sacred adornments. Tribal pieces that are created for ceremony and spiritual practices. Made with uplifting and protective energy. My home and studio are ceremonial, sacred spaces. It is where I keep close to the spirit world, and walk the spiritual path I have been on for over a quarter of a century. I smudge almost daily with burning sage, copal, or palo santo which helps create a beautiful energy in which to work creating CherokeeMoon and Dream Circle pieces.
