At Blaq Star Soaps, every bar is a throwback track. My soap-making journey started with a failed high school chemistry experiment and, like a true Gen Xer, I hit rewind years later and pressed play again. What began as a hobby in 2018 grew into a full-on side B—handcrafted soaps inspired by the music and culture of the ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s.

Each product is small-batch, carefully made, and named with a nostalgic twist on the songs we blasted from boomboxes, Walkmans, and mixtapes. From “Oh Mickey, Yuzu Fine” to “When Suds Fly” and “Cool It Now,” every soap is a nod to the soundtrack of our youth.

Our cassette tape logo? It’s a love letter to growing up Gen X—drinking from the garden hose, roller-skating until the streetlights came on, and watching MTV back when it actually played music videos.
