About

A Passionate Collector and Seller Of Antiques & Vintage Items

When I was a little girl, on occasion my mother would bring home some interesting, old objects from antique shops. My mother did not know much about antiques. She just bought some of these objects because she thought they would look nice as decorations around the house.

Most of these things were from the Victorian era or were made sometime during the 1800s. As a little girl, I always had an active imagination. I would hold these unique and very unusual items in my hand and wonder about the people who once owned them. I would then picture what they looked like, what their lives were like and how they once enjoyed these items.

Around the corner from my home, lived a weird, old man named Patsy who I found very interesting. Patsy lived his life very frugally. He wore old, ripped up threadbare clothes and was always seen walking around the neighborhood pushing a shopping cart filled with old things.

He lived by himself and had no living relatives. He barely ever spoke to anybody and all of the neighborhood kids thought he was just a creepy, elderly man who lived in a haunted house with lots of "rubbish". His yard was filled with old, rusty objects too numerous to count. His porch also overflowed with antiques and old things that made the front of his house appear to look like a junkyard.

The neighbors thought he was just a decrepit, drunkard with nothing better to do but collect dusty old garbage. They whispered about him behind his back and kept away from him. However, I was fascinated with his stash of ancient, historical icons. It was like a treasure trove waiting to be unearthed. I wanted to see all of his things and secretly wished I could go along with him when he went around the neighborhood searching for his cache of new and more exciting finds.

I often wondered what it would be like to have all of these beautiful, non mass produced items filled with the glory and pride of the days from long ago, in my possession. Many years went by and Patsy died an old, lonely man. Time marched on and I forgot all about the objects that were once Patsy's pride and joy. I grew up, got married and had children. Then it all came back to me once again in 1998....

One day while on vacation in Pennsylvania, I ventured into a quaint little antique shop with my sister-in-law. The memories of Patsy and his antique jewels flashed back into my mind in an instant. I felt the joy, wonder and excitement of my childhood all over again. At this point, I became hooked. In an instant, I officially became a "collector" and was bitten by the "antique bug".

I then started to read numerous books about all of these wonderful old objects. I also went on the internet and researched various antiques until my eyes almost bled. I couldn't get enough information and I became passionate. I spent countless days hunting for unique old items at garage sales, estate sales, auction houses, thrift shops, classified ads, online internet sites, and through word of mouth. To this day, I can hardly keep myself from hitting estate sales and auctions even though my collections of various items are overflowing.

I started online selling back in 98', so I could get some funds to buy more things. Since then, I have sold my items to the nicest people around the world. Some of my customers have been from places in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Japan, South America, etc...

I am thrilled to be able to share my love of antiques with others and enjoy speaking to collectors from all around the world. I have met so many interesting people and am grateful to share my passion with others.

I think Patsy would be proud....

Big hugs,
Deanna Kane
