Announcement   Welcome to Dainty Bloom!

Here you will find an array of my handmade crochet clothing, beanies headwear, bows, hairclips, clutches, and other accessories. All are carefully crafted and created by me! My design and crochet skills developed out of a tragic situation, which would later turn into an unexpected and beautiful adventure!

On July 28th 2010, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I went through 6 months of chemotherapy and went into remission on February 10th 2011. During the treatments, I felt incredibly sick and was unable to do much. Unfortunately, one of the many side effects of chemotherapy was neuropathy in my hands. My oncologist recommended I do some sort of activity with my hands to offset the soreness and numbness I had in my fingers. I immediately thought of crocheting. My grandma had taught me to crochet when I was 14 years old but I only knew the basics. Since I was unable to attend my sophomore year of college at Chapman University, I had a lot of free time on my hands. I would look up different patterns and teach myself crocheting techniques I would read from different blogs or watch on YouTube. As my knowledge of crocheting grew, I started to develop my own designs and creations.

First came beanies, then headbands and scarves, bathing suit tops, and the list will go on and on. I have always known that I wanted to work in the fashion industry and I thought the best way to showcase my skills was by starting my own online shop! I am so excited to share my ideas with you and I want to thank everyone for all your love and support.

Love my case! I wanted it more as a cute thing to carry my laptop in, but the crocheting was done so well that it's actually very protective too. Oh and the vibrant colors are awesome!
