About

Bringing you back to a simpler time

I have always loved vintage items. The way they look, feel or even smell rustles up a memory of my childhood. I never realized I had such a passion for the past until I found some old mugs in a thrift store back in 2009. Trying times called for finding alternate ways to bring in money so naturally I gravitated to what some call "old stuff". This is where picking came in. I found myself drawn to kitchen wares, particularly the 40's thru the 60's with the 1950's leading the pack. Necessary research turned into a fun pastime. I can't get enough of it. I am slowly branching out into vintage home décor and hope to bring even more vintage fun to the mix. Currently you can find items in my shop from the 1920's thru the 1980's.

The shop is called Daisy's Attic, named after a very special family member Daisy, a beautiful spunky rat terrier who stole out hearts back in 2002. As a stray she landed on our back deck and has been a part of the family ever since. She personally sniffs every piece of the past that comes into our home. I guess she is giving it her seal of approval. We lost her in April of 2015 from kidney disease and a number of other issues. I swear I can still hear her jump off the couch when I walk thru the house. She will always be with us in spirit :)

Today I enjoy finding pieces of the past for others to enjoy. Whether its a mixing bowl your grandmother used or an ashtray your grandfather rested his pipe on its a piece of history that fills my shop. Pyrex, Fire King, depression glass and mid century housewares to name a few. Every piece is special to someone and that makes it special enough for me to hunt down and offer to you.

    Assistant

This is Daisy, muse for the shop. She sniffed every bag coming in and wagged her tail at boxes going out. She was a good assistant. She passed in April of 2015. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about her. Until we meet again :)
