It's beautiful! I love the colors and the beadwork. These postcards are works of art I frame and scatter around my house for the joy of looking at them.

It's beautiful, a lovely addition to my scarf collection. I love the warm colors and the piecing is perfect. Yes, it shipped very quickly. This artist's work is well worth looking at any time.

Pictures don't do this item justice - the scarf looks even more beautiful in person and I'm glad I finally gave in to purchase it. I can't wait to put it to good use when I go on my trip to chillier climates. :)

Hi there, and welcome to Damn Skippy Designs! Thanks for visiting the online store for my textile creations. If you’ve followed me here from DeviantArt, yep, you’re in the right place.

If you have a question that reading these shop policies doesn’t clear up, feel free to contact me at rageai [at] yahoo.com.

New to Etsy? Not totally sure how it works? Welcome, and don’t be intimidated! There’s a helpful and detailed set of instructions on how to register and complete a purchase that you can read here:
http://www.etsy.com/help_guide_checkout.php

Accepted payment methods

Payment
I accept payments through Paypal only, but if you don’t have a Paypal account, don’t worry! You can still pay with a credit card through Paypal – you don’t need an account to do that – Paypal just acts as the credit card processor for orders placed through Etsy.

Payment is due in full at the time of order and must be cleared before the item is shipped. Make certain that you’ve followed the link through to the Paypal site in order to complete your transaction. If your order is not paid for within three days, I reserve the right to cancel the sale and relist the item.

Currently, I live in Kentucky. If you do, too, sales tax will be added automatically by Paypal to your item and shipping costs at the rate of 6.00%.
Shipping
Packaging and Gift options:

All items come in the standard Damn Skippy Festively Casual wrap – brown craft paper folded around the item and secured with a ribbon or fabric bow, with a small surprise included. The Festively Casual wrap is fun and festive and ready for giving – whether it’s a gift to yourself or someone else. And, best of all, it’s included with all items free of charge! If you have a color preference in mind for the bow, feel free to let me know and I’ll do my best to accommodate your request (no guarantees, but I’ll do my best!).

If you’re ordering a gift for someone else, I can also include a gift note handwritten in decorative paper with the order upon request, at no extra charge. Please type “gift note:” in the ‘message to seller’ box, and include the text you want on the note. Additionally, if you’re sending a gift, you may prefer that I enclose a ‘gift invoice’ with the purchase instead of a regular invoice. A gift invoice will contain all the same information as a regular invoice, but will leave off any mention of the pricing. If you’d like a gift invoice instead of a regular one, please indicate “gift invoice” in the ‘message to seller’ box.

Again - if you’d like to request bow colors or any gift options, please let me know in the ‘message to seller’ box during your checkout process. Remember, I don’t know which gift options you need unless you tell me!

Shipping:

I ship all items USPS Priority flat rate. Currently, this is the best solution for being able to provide my customers (that’s you, hopefully!) with accurate, reliable rates and relatively speedy service. Delivery confirmation is included for all U.S. orders. Scarves ship in flat rate boxes, postcards ship in flat rate envelopes.

I will ship your order to you within three (3) business days of your payment clearing. The United States Postal Service estimates that the transit time after shipping is approximately 1 to 3 days for United States domestic mail, and 6 to 14 days for international. These are estimates and are not set in stone or guaranteed by them or me.

** Extra Info For International Shipping:

I do ship internationally. Tracking information is NOT available for international orders. However, I will insure all international shipments through the USPS to all eligible countries at no charge. (There are some countries which the USPS will not allow me to insure shipments to. Please understand that these orders ship at your own risk. If you have questions as to whether your country is among those ineligible for shipping insurance, please contact me at rageai [at] yahoo.com.)

While I will make every attempt to ship your order as soon as possible, in some rare instances the extra time and complication of shipping internationally may cause me to require a couple extra days for shipping. I don’t anticipate this in most situations, but if it happens, be sure that I’ll let you know, and I appreciate your understanding.

**A note on shipping more than one item to a single address. I’m still wrestling with working out shipping profiles, but here’s the deal:

For the scarves:

I can fit up to two scarves in one medium-sized USPS flat rate box without having to move up a size. If you order two or more items to a single address, DON’T WORRY! I won’t charge you the full shipping rate again for every single item. If you’re ordering multiple items, once you’ve placed your order, I will refund any shipping overages.

Your second item at the same time to the same address ships for free. After your second item, I have to move up box sizes, so it will depend on how many items you’ve ordered, but the next size up is the Large Priority flat box, which would ship for $14.50 within the U.S., $33.95 to Canada and Mexico, and $55.95 everywhere else. Again, if you’re ordering multiple items, I’ll figure out the most cost-effective method of shipping and refund the difference to your Paypal account.

For the postcards:

I ship USPS priority flat rate envelopes so your postcard arrives in pristine condition, wrapped with Damn Skippy Festively Casual wrap, enclosed with an envelope and ready to be addressed and mailed out to the recipient of your choice or simply displayed. I can fit quite a few of them safely into one flat rate envelope, so shipping is free on any additional cards after the first (or with a scarf!) to the same address. They ship within the U.S. for $4.95, to Canada or Mexico for $11.95, and to all other countries for $13.95.
Refunds and Exchanges
Because of the labor intensive nature of the pieces, I cannot accept returns or exchanges at this time. I have attempted to describe and photograph each item extensively, and you are welcome to contact me with questions before you place your order.

The exception to the policy is if I ship you the incorrect item (i.e., you place an order for a charm scarf and you get a letterbox scarf in the mail). If this happens, please contact me at rageai [at] yahoo.com, within 3 business days of receiving your order, and I will rush to make certain the error is corrected.

That being said, nothing is more important to me than your satisfaction! I want to make certain that your experience is a happy one. So if there’s a problem with your order, please contact me at rageai [at] yahoo.com and I promise I’ll do my best to make sure you’re satisfied.
Additional policies and FAQs
Scarf Care:

These objects are all made to be loved and used. I want them to be worn and happy, not sit on a shelf or hang on a peg and be sad. I’ve been wearing the first prototype of these scarves I ever made for years now, and it’s still going strong. I believe strongly in making beautiful, functional objects, and your scarf should stand up to normal wear just fine – no need to put it on a pedestal or reserve it ‘for special occasions’.

That being said, ‘normal wear’ doesn’t mean you should use them for tractor-pulling or as a leash for your beloved pet Clydesdale, or wear them during your day job on an oil-drilling platform. They’re also not intended as children’s garments. Use your judgment and care for them as you would any other textile.

The scarves are all washable. I officially recommend hand washing only as needed, in cold water and using as mild a detergent as you can – never bleach – and hanging them to dry naturally. Tumble drying all the way can cause items to lose their shape, but once they’re dry, if you want to pop ‘em in the dryer for a couple of minutes to fluff them, that shouldn’t be a problem.

(Psst – unofficially, there’s been an occasion or two when I was really pinched for time, and I put my scarf in a ‘delicates’ bag and washed it in my machine on the gentlest cycle, and it turned out fine. But you didn’t hear it from me. ^_~)

About Fabric Postcards:

Fabric postcards are functional, mailable art. For the same price as a first class letter (currently $0.44 inside the US), they can be stamped and sent through the mail without an envelope, just like a regular postcard. Of course, they can be sent inside an envelope as well, and I enclose an envelope free of charge with the purchase of each postcard.

(Optional for customers residing in the US: if you prefer, I will pre-stamp your postcard at the current domestic first class rate [$0.44] instead of including the envelope. If you choose this option, please notify me at the time of purchase, and I’ll choose from among my eclectic personal assortment of stamps and securely attach them, so you can send your postcard to its intended recipient with confidence. Again, if you prefer your card pre-stamped, please include a note or convo AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE. If no preference is indicated, I will enclose the envelope.)

I’ve made and sent around fifty of these fabric postcards all over the world, and I have never had one fail to reach its destination. When the cards are sent ‘naked’, they tend to pick up small imperfections or postage marks along the way. Personally, I think it adds ‘character’ to each card, and I enjoy seeing the evidence of their journey. If you prefer the card remain in pristine condition, I suggest sending it in an envelope. Either way, they’re a fun and unique item to send, receive, or simply display.

Note: Though every card I have sent has been delivered successfully, I can’t entirely rule out the possibility of mail loss. It’s rare, and it’s never happened to me, but it can happen. I have confidence in the mail system, but if you choose to send a postcard out after I have delivered it to you, I cannot be held responsible for loss or damage while any card is in the care of the USPS.

How to use your fabric postcard:

Fabric postcards can be sent through the mail just like a regular postcard. Simply write the recipient’s address on the right side of the reverse of the card, and your message on the left side. Cards should be sent at the first class rate. I always include my return address, so the cards can be returned to sender if somehow the delivery fails. Also, to prevent possible damage, ask your postal worker for hand cancellation of your stamp(s) rather than allowing it to be machine cancelled.

A Note on Care: Fabric postcards are sturdy enough to go through the mail, and they are 100% fabric, but I don’t recommend you wash them. If absolutely necessary, gently surface wash only and allow to dry naturally on a flat surface.

To write on your card, I recommend using a fine-tipped fabric pen (good brands are Pigma, Sakura, and Yasutomo Y&C PermaWriter II. They can be obtained at most hobby, craft, or fabric stores). With a careful hand, you can also use a ballpoint or gel pen. I don’t recommend using a pen that is water soluble, washable, or one that bleeds a lot. When in doubt, test first!

Other policies and info:

For now, my studio is also my home, and while it is 100% smoke-free, I do share it with two dogs. While I do my best to keep my work as separate from my furry roommates as possible, I cannot entirely eliminate the possibility of dander. If you have severe dog allergies, please be aware of this.

Unless otherwise specified, the item pictured is the actual item for sale, not an example. Any props that are shown in the photographs are for display only and are not for sale. Human models are also not for sale (unless otherwise specified).
