I have been a fashion. designer for over 17 years.I was fascinated by the vastness of the field of Textile Arts .At the University of Arts I fell in love with fashion design and I knew that this is what I will do all my life.
The passion for clothing creation developed gradually, through the study of textile arts, going through all its branches - tapestry, printing. The attraction has appeared since I was very young, being fascinated by everything that meant Textiles. I could sit for minutes in front of a window shop with fabrics, imagining what clothes might be created from them.I used to observe my grandmother in the countryside dyeing wool, weaving carpets or blankets with the traditional crafts.
The collaborations with the big brands disciplined me, refined me, made me understand the needs of the Romanian market, but also of the international markets. I learned some things about the mechanism of a fashion business, about how much quality matter, about the importance of having a goal.
The decision to set up my own clothing line came from the desire to experiment more, to address a young market, with practical needs and to offer a good quality, affordable product. It is a great dream come true, a dream come true with a lot of study, a lot of tenacity, a lot of mistakes, a lot of lessons, but also a lot of satisfaction.
I have learned many technical details about making a garment, about pattern construction, about using industrial equipment. I have established a set of rules from which I try not to deviate - the use of natural fiber fabrics, especially those that come in direct contact with the skin, making the highest quality finishes so that the clothes last as long as possible, good quality of the colors with which I paint the clothes, creating a personal, recognizable style of prints and also trying to reuse all the textile waste.
The creative process often begins during the sleep. Yes, I dream of clothes, or details of clothes and sometimes I wake up to write down or sketch a few shapes. It continues in the atelier, between
fabrics, patterns, technical solutions. It is a continuous process, trained throughout the years of study, travelling, reading, watching movies, connecting with the nature.
I am inspired by nature, from the microscopic, mineral world, to the visible forms, especially the plant world (when the wind blows, the leaves of a poplar seem to applaud life itself). I am inspired by art, painting, architecture, literature, certain people and cultures.
I studied Arts from the age of 10, and this trained me in a special way. From the department of Decorative Arts, I ran to the Painting department and learned as many techniques as possible. I have a great passion for oil painting with generous touches of color. However, I express my need by putting few spots of color on my clothes. In this way I feed a hunger of my soul to express emotions, energy, lust for life.
