Passion for Danish mid-century design

At Danish Vintage Design™ we specialize in sourcing and making available original mid-century Danish design pieces, in the best of vintage conditions.

We take pride in consistently providing the highest level in product and service, and in keeping our prices fair and transparent.

In addition to making available the pieces in our Collection, we curate a Design Index with detailed information on original Danish vintage designs, the designers who conceived them, and the producers who put them into production.

This is how we share our love of Danish mid-century modern design. Please, do enjoy!

A digital Designer by trade, I have loved lamps and lighting, since 1998, when I designed websites for design lighting giant Louis Poulsen. 6 months of looking at beautiful lights from Poul Henningsen and Arne Jacobsen, changed my life for always.

Frequently asked questions
Delivery time - How fast can you get my order to me?

We know you want your pieces NOW - we would too if we were expecting shipment of something special!

That is why we are fully committed to delivering the best service available anywhere, to go with your beautiful pieces - with first class shipping at affordable prices.

We will package and ship your purchase within 1 business day, unless otherwise notified.

We ship using fully tracked and fully insured, priority courier services (FedEx), and the average delivery times for our shipments are:

North America: 2-5 days
South America: 3-7 days
Europe (EU): 2-5 days
Europe (Non-EU): 3-7 days
Asia and Oceania: 3-7 days
Rest of the World (Priority A Postal services): 3-8 days

We can also offer overnight express delivery - please ask for a quote.

Tracking & Insurance - Can I track my order, and how is it insured?

As soon as your order ships we will send you a shipping notification with information on the shipment as well as the tracking code.

We will also monitor your shipment from pickup to delivery, and will keep you informed all along the way, in case delays or other unforeseen events come up.

Please feel safe in knowing your shipment is fully insured with the courier!

Packaging - How will my order be packaged?

Your purchase will be packed with the utmost care for safe transport to you.

The item itself has been cleaned, labeled and packed in a protective bag to avoid moist influx.

We use combinations of bubble wrap, cardboard and curled up newspaper balls for stabilizing and obtaining the best shock absorbing protection, and we only ship in sturdy double corrugated cardboard boxing.

The safe delivery of your pieces is top of mind when packing!

Wiring & electricity - Will your lights work in my country?

All my lights are wired in compliance with EU safety standards, and using the highest quality cords available!

In countries (US, Japan and others) where 100-120 V (50-60 Hz) is the electrical standard, the light will function just fine, as long as you use a light bulb made for your (local) electrical standard.

This however does not mean the light will automatically comply with the specific safety standards of your country.

In order to comply with your country's specific standards, you might need to replace the wiring and plugs (most of my lights come without plugs - ready for hard wiring).

If in doubt - please check with me - or even better, a local professional, as I am not knowledgeable about all the standards of the World!

Bulb sizes - How do I figure out which bulbs I will need?

Please find information on the specific bulb size(s) needed for a light, in the description text of that item in the shop.

Standard Edison Screw fitting E27 (EU) and E26 (US) bulb sizes are interchangeable, considered as such by the industry.

Lights with bulb mounts that fit E14 bulbs need an adapter (E14-to-E12) in order to be used with E12 (candelabra size) bulbs, which are common where 110-120v is the standard.
However it is possible to get E14 size LED bulbs that fit 110V as well!

If in doubt please just ask!

Customs, duty charges and fees - What should I take into account?

We ship from Copenhagen, Denmark which means that shipping within the EU is not subject to duty or additional charges or fees.

For shipments with destinations outside the EU, please note that you should account for any local duty charges and fees which may apply in your specific country.

These are usually pretty low on vintage items, and in some instances, specific items are even exempt. But as it would take an army of lawyers to plow through all the different import laws of the World, we are forced to say:

Buyers are responsible for any and all customs charges, taxes & additional fees or surcharges in conjunction with this!

If you have any questions about customs or duty charges, we are happy to share what we know - please just ask : )

99.4 % of all our shipments end in perfect deliveries - no matter how hard we try, we will never reach 100% - BUT we will always be ready to help if something does happen!

Should the worst of all things happen, and your purchased items, are lost or damaged in the course of shipping, please do feel safe in knowing that shipping is fully insured with the courier, and we will help you in any way we can!

We will of course always assist in locating a shipment if lost or filing a claim if shipment is damaged, but please note, that we do not directly refund purchases that have been lost or damaged in the process of delivery. Any claims need to be addressed to the courier, who holds the insurance for the shipment – again we will help you through!

Wholesale and Trade sales

We are happy to cater to vintage shops, interior designers and decorator businesses, and we have successfully sourced pieces for many projects all over the World.

All our pieces are delivered shelf ready - cleaned, tested and beautifully tagged with information on Name, Designer, Producer and Year.

Just ask if you need us to source original Danish vintage design pieces for your store or project - and ask us about wholesale rates and bulk order shipping too!
