At first, I was a little skeptical when I noticed that the teeth on this gear were different from the original one (the original is on the right, and the one I bought is on the left), but it performed perfectly during testing and worked without any problems until I broke it myself while trying to remove it from the motor shaft (((... Great parts to get fast forward and rewind working again in your Technics 671. One important thing to check though before ordering the four part set: The fourth ring is for the capstan idler. In some (earlier?) versions of the deck this rubber ring has a different shape and is glued to the bronze core, and hence cannot be replaced (at least not easily). In other (later?) versions of the deck, the capstan idler is identical to the fast forward/rewind idler (service manual also lists this with the same parts number). So carefully check what you have and then order three or four part set accordingly. Overall great product! I can finally rewind my tapes again :-)
