Announcement    A shop dedicated to custom, personalized sewing and embroidery.Think embroidery is only for monogrammed shirts, hankies with flowers, and tea towels with birds?
Think again.
I am retro girl with a special panache for robots, monsters and skulls.

I source many of my embroidery designs from UrbanThreads.com
If you would like to design a custom item, please check out UrbanThreads.com and let me know how to customize a special piece just for you. If you don't see a background fabric you like in my current listings, check with me for what else I might have available.

And just because something is listed as a pouch or pillow doesn't mean it couldn't be a onesie or a hand towel. Message me to discuss the special item you have in mind.

From time-to-time Darn It Sew What is a family affair with my mom, Anita, assisting with shipping, sewing, and design consultation.
She’s a real star – her crafting and sewing skills were honed during many years in 4-H and leading 4-H.

We have three crazy cats, but they really aren't helpful when it comes to sewing. We keep them out of the studio as much as possible.
Our home is smoke-free and our garden is full of fabulous flowers.
Does life really get any better?
Well, yes...it does get prettier with my hand-made collections.

About DarnItSewWhat

Sales 2,188
On Etsy since 2012

Sewn with attitude. Embroidered with moxie.

Darn It! Sew What? started out as bags crafted by a knitter for knitters. I got my start at a little vendor market organized by my knitting group here in Des Moines. I practically sold out of everything I had made for the show and knew I was on to something. The banker who helped me open up my business accounts even liked what I was doing and helped confirm I was on the right track.

I've started to venture out into other items like pillows and I have far more ideas than I have time it seems.

I have a special affinity for Liberty of London fabric and imported Japanese textiles, so check back regularly – as many items will be unique and one-off opportunities for you to treasure.

Follow me on Twitter @darnitsewwhat for real-time trend setting and to keep up on my latest additions.

I love working on custom orders. Please contact me if there is something special I can craft for you.

I love all things crafty from knitting to weaving to sewing. I also love photography and traveling. I keep a keen eye for exiting and eccentric fabrics. I even managed to come across a small store selling vintage linens while traveling in Norway.
