I love kilns, Clay, and potters.
I have worked (Played) with clay for over 20 years now and I am still loving it. I keep thinking I will tire of it, but I don't. It is just to much fun and there is not enough time in the day to make every thing I would like to make, so I tell myself, there is always tomorrow.
I studied ceramics at our local college, here in Cottonwood, for over 14 years, taking the same class over and over. I know that sounds a little strange but I love being around kilns, wheels, and potters.
I sign my pots DAST (DA for Darrielle and St for Straughan) or DAST for Darrielle Ann Straughan and the "T" for my married name Toepfer which in German translates to Potter. Needless to say my name has way to many letters to sign on bottom of any pot, hence, the initials DAST
My studio is located in Cottonwood near Sedona, Arizona..

I was retired but my hobby turned into a flourishing business. I am 73 and busy all day. What more could I ask for.
Making pottery is a process, and takes a good couple weeks from start to finish.
My only addictions are making pottery and food. Yes!! food!!, love, love, love, it!!. At 52 I found life rather boring for reasons I will not go into, so I took a ceramic class at the local college, now 24 years later I can say that I haven't been bored, not one single day!. I live and breath just to make pottery.(and eat) :)
