About DatamancerGames

Passion turned business

Datamancer Games was founded in 2018 to share Daniel’s passion for miniature painting with the world. Initially started as a platform to share pictures of his work and artistic progress in miniature painting, his passion has led to commissioned work painting miniatures for some of the most popular tabletop games on the market. A selection of his past painting work can be found on the portfolio page of our official website.

As Daniel delved further into playing, and painting figurines for, tabletop war games he recognized a lack of quality terrain on the market. Armed with his fleet of 3D printers and mini painter’s eye for detail, he began printing and selling terrain for these games. He also has begun painting these pieces of terrain, providing sumptuous backgrounds for event the bloodiest Warhammer and Infnity battles.

Daniel asked his fiance Katie to join Datamancer Games in mid-2019 to allow Daniel more time to focus on production of the terrain and miniatures. Katie handles the day-to-day customer service, shipping, photography, and marketing for the business - as well as joining in on painting for special orders. Daniel and Katie live in Savannah, GA with their fur-baby Finn (the shop dog / destroyer of boxes).

Frequently asked questions
3-D PLA Print FAQs

- All our terrain pieces are printed in PLA, unless otherwise specified
- They don't need to be washed before painting, but we do recommend the use of a plastic-safe primer (rattle can or otherwise) to make sure the paint stays put. We've used both army painter and krylon with good success (personal opinion, not sponsored!).
- Since the pieces are 3-D printed there may be some minor imperfections in the rounding of a piece / "threads" of PLA - these can be carefully clipped off or can be filled with a filler primer.
- We do not recommend pulling the PLA threads as it can break the models!!!
- The models are fairly sturdy, but will not survive being stepped on, dropped large distances, or otherwise abused. Please treat them well.

Custom and personalized orders

- We typically do not accept alterations to our standard paint schemes - however - we may be able to accommodate minor tweaks. Please message us for details.
- We don't do commissioned work at this time. We have several excellent commission painters we can recommend if you are interested in fully customized painting.
- Unless otherwise stated in the listing, our painted miniatures are painted to order - this means they are typically a 3-4 week leadtime item. If you need them in a shorter time please contact us.

Resin Print FAQs

- Our resin prints are made with UV-cured photopolymer resin
- Our resin pieces do not need to be washed before painting - but, if you see any sticky / wet looking residue it can be removed with high purity rubbing alcohol (Isopropyl alcohol / IPA)
- As with our PLA printed terrain / minis - we recommend the use of a plastic-safe primer (rattle can or otherwise) to make sure the paint stays put.
- You may see some bumps on the model, these are from the supports needed to print the model. These can be gently removed with fine-grit sandpaper or filing
- Superglue works well for gluing models together. Plastic glue does not work well for these models!
- These models are more brittle than our PLA printed models, please handle them with care!
