Everything is hand knit with great attention to detail. I make my accessories with quality fibers that I get at bargain prices so I can keep my costs & prices down. I prefer to use natural fibers and natural fiber blends as well as reclaimed luxury fibers such as cashmere angora & mohair. Many are also machine washable and easy care. You can also view my "sold" items & know that I can recreate most of them for you in any fiber/color you wish... just convo me! (To view just click on "Sales" in left hand column.)
If you see an item you would like in a different color and/or fiber I can easily make you a custom piece, only upcharge is if you choose a more expensive yarn (and of course a longer delivery time). Also, if there is something else entirely you'd like, I can probably do it, again, just convo me!

Working on a pair of fingerless gloves in my most popular design and my favorite to make. These are so great for cool spring mornings and evenings. These ones are made in an alpaca merino and Donegal blend yarn.
Have had several boot cuff orders this week. Finishing up one here in my "work room". I love the thought of them traveling to places all over the world.

About

I love handmade things. I love things with a story. I found that many others do as well. So I'm sharing my creations not only w/friends, but on Etsy.

After nearly a year of pestering by family members, I "graduated" from Etsy shopper to Etsy shop keeper. I spent several weeks knitting up a few items I thought would be good to start with and fussed about with my shop appearance and what not because I was worried no one would even see them, let alone be interested, especially as I knew nothing about promotion (and still know precious little ... but I'm working on it!) I was gratified to make several sales within a few months & my sales and original designs have increased greatly over the last couple of years. I have recently begun to offer my original patterns to other knitters as well. I like to make things with a story ... things of my own design and not from patterns, although I have adapted a few patterns I found to make them "just right" for my shop. I love to hear stories from my customers as well ... the baby's first Easter bunny, the daughter's Christmas gift, the gloves for a long distance love ... it's my favorite thing about being an Etsy seller. I seldom use craft store yarn, I prefer to use high quality fibers, and recently I've found local sources for top merino wool and Etsy sources for reclaimed luxury fibers like cashmere. That said, I'm a big time bargain hunter, so I buy "short skeins" from the local merino producer and shop sale yarns at my local and internet sources. I believe beautiful things shouldn't cost too much, and should be packaged simply and beautifully. Since my "labor" brings me much joy, I really don't charge very much for it. A lot of my knitting is done waiting for kids at soccer practices, 4H meetings & music lessons. Lately, I've taken to using my knitting as a kind of meditation that really calms my mind when things are crazy. I hope some of the joy and peace I find in my craft comes across in the finished products.

I've been crafting pretty much since preschool, but the only one I really stuck with was creating things with yarn. At first, I mostly did crochet, but I discovered I could be more "free form" with knitting, designing my own creations.

Additional policies and FAQs
I am more than happy to take custom orders. I can create the design in different colors, with different fiber content and even customize many of the patterns to meet your specifications. If there is an item you would like that you don't see in my store, ask ... chances are I have a pattern for it you will love! Keep in mind that my delivery time for custom items is longer, depending on the item and how many commissions I have. I will give you an approiximate time line at time of request.

I make a big effort to show the correct color in my photos, but even then, the color can be slightly off. I can often send you a thumbnail photo of the yarn from the manufacturer if you'd like.
