On Etsy since 2017

Ryan Higgins is the maker and designer of memorials at Daybreak Dreams. He lampworks borosilicate glass into jewelry and artwork in gas torch flames. A sensibility for beauty and elegance are evident in the fluidity of his forms. He creates memorials by infusing cremated remains into the hot sculpted or blown glassworks. Our most popular designs are the cremation pendant necklaces. They include teardrops, halos, hearts, moons, and nautilus motifs with a variety of colors to choose from. Many of the designs incorporate a unique application of vaporized-gold fumed onto the glass. To view the artist's complete line of works, please visit www.daybreakdreams.com .

In 2018, an exclusive product line of candle holders was introduced, available only from Daybreak Dreams. "Urn Candles" are handblown with cremains infused into the glass. The ashes produce a beautiful speckled pattern that visually stands out amid the warm glow of candlelight.

Daybreak Dreams also works with clients to design and create custom Spirit-Animal sculptures. These are usually hand held size artworks with cremains infused into the main body of the animal. Samples can be seen in the gallery section of our website. Spirit Animal orders are negotiated through direct email or phone conversation with the artist.

Ryan was introduced to lampworking glass in Seattle, summer of 1995. A few years later, he moved to Rochester, NY joining the team of highly skillful lampworkers as a Townsend Associate. He went on to earn his MFA in Visual Arts from Mason Gross School of the Arts, at Rutgers University. Today, his creative work is made at home in his private art studio. He also works as a scientific glassblower at NDS Technologies in Vineland, NJ.

Ryan, his wife, and son, reside in historic Mullica Hill, NJ. They're a family business working to make meaningful connections between the artist and clients.
