Un viaje de surf a Puerto Rico inspiró mi arte con aletas de surf montadas. Encontré una vieja aleta de tabla de surf, pulida por la arena, mientras buceaba en el arrecife y me la llevé a casa. Después de pintarla, me di cuenta de cuánto disfrutaba el proceso de reutilizar algo que alguna vez tuvo una función para contar una historia completamente nueva.
El surf, la naturaleza y el arte me brindan una gran alegría. Como virginiana, combino mis raíces en las Montañas Blue Ridge con mi amor por el agua y mi trabajo inspirado en la playa.
A surfing trip to Puerto Rico inspired my craft for mounted fin art. I found an old, sand-tumbled surfboard fin while reef snorkeling and brought it home with me. After painting it, I realized how much I loved the process of repurposing something that once had a function to tell another story yet again.
Surfing, nature, and art bring me great joy. As a Virginian, I blend my Blue Ridge roots with my love for the water and beach-inspired work.
