Sent these to my moonchild-hippie artist mom to add a little bling to her look for her birthday. She adores them and my dad says she wears them all of the time.

I continue to expand my horizons

I became hooked on beading quite by accident, when I was accompanying a friend on a trip to purchase some wool. A corner of the stores was devoted to beads; I bought a few to make a necklace and I was hooked. For the next few years, I became an avid collector of beads until my supply far outstripped what I needed for myself, my family and my friends. The solution was obvious: sell my jewelry at art festivals. As I was expanding my repertoire of beading techniques, I came across lampworking, making beads using a torch to melt glass on a rod. As soon as I saw it, I had to learn it. in 2005, I set up my own bead making studio in northern Indiana. Then I thought: I really need to learn how to make by own findings, so I took metal working classes at a local university. The only damper too my enthusiasm was that I had a day job to which I had to devote most of my time and attention. I could only make jewelry a few hours a week. So when I retired in 2012, I was ready. My husband and I moved to Georgia, choosing a house with a basement where I could set up my combined metalsmithing and flameworking studio (see below). I'm taking advantage to the wonderful art community in the Atlanta area by taking classes at Spruill Arts Center and Chastain Arts Center and interacting with my fellow artists in Southern Flames and the Georgia Goldsmiths Group. I'm continually learning new techniques and refining old ones and evolving my own individual style.

Additional policies and FAQs
The closure I use for my bracelet is designed to allow you to custom fit the bracelet to your wrist. It consists of a sterling silver lobster claw which can lock into the rings of a sterling silver chain which is usually about 1 1/2 in. long. At the end of the chain thee is a sterling silver bead which allows the excess length of the chain to dangle from the clasp. If you prefer, I can restring the bracelet to your actual wrist size (at no additional cost), using a sterling silver toggle clasp. Please convo me, and I will send you a picture of the clasps which I currently have in stock. I will restring the bracelet so that it is 1/2 in. longer than your wrist measurement (or longer if you like a loose bracelet).

All of the metals used my jewelry have been polished prior to listing the item. The silver will tarnish with age, but the shine can be restored using silver polish. The copper and brass items have been treated with a product called Renaissance Was. This will maintain the polish for a considerable period of time. In some cases, I have allowed the copper to take on a patina. I find this attractive, but you may not, so let me know and I can remove the patina and polish the metal to a shine.

I am happy to customize any of the items for sale in my shop, e.g. changing the type of earring ear wire, or substituting beads of a particular color, etc. Let me know if you see something in my shop whose design you would like to tweak, and I will work with you as far as the resources I have available will allow.
