Announcement   Over the years I've had jewelry in galleries in Canada as well as the US. Sometimes the work does not fit the clientele of that particular area and work is exchanged out. Sometimes, the gallery has closed it's doors. For whatever reason I have work come back to me to be relocated! :-) I've re-opened this shop to offer those special One of a Kind pieces here on Etsy at a lower than gallery price.
♡ Take a peek and see if there's something that suits you! ♡

Unique, arty, and earthy. All of my jewelry begins in the flame of my torch. There is a lovely meditative energy here and I like to think that this magic must infuse the jewelry itself.
I have a love for organic works of art. Earth washed colors, surprising textures, and graceful flow of movement using chain, charms and dangles..

This mimic of natural elements is a wonderful play ground that I take constant delight in. ~ 🌸 ~ Deborah

~❀~ This shop accepts lay away~❀~ Choose 'other' as a form of payment and message me to arrange payment dates. I ask for 1/2 down to hold the item. Thank you!

ABOUT
Some years ago I sold only the beads here on Etsy. After a sabbatical I'm back but with only jewelry this time. Once in a blue moon I do offer the odd focal bead but largely I am no longer selling loose beads. 😽

My romance with the art of flame work began in 2005 after viewing some pendants in a boutique while visiting my sister in Cranbrook, BC. I went home, bought a simple single fuel torch, some rods of soda lime glass and have not looked back.

Most of the glass rods that I use to create the beads are imported from Italy and Germany. There is also some really really beautiful glass now being manufactured in the States as well that I use sparingly, since it's rather expensive.
The beads are wound and designed on a stainless steel mandrel, then carefully annealed and cleaned before being crafted into a piece of jewelry.

I love to incorporate surprise elements. I prefer asymmetrical design, yet strive to achieve pleasing balance using color theory and texture. I like a sense of movement and each piece usually has some feature that can be played with...rolled back and forth, a swinging length of chain or wrapped charm... a sort of talisman for you throughout your day. Love of family and roots run deep and influence much of what is created in the studio.
I no longer sell loose beads but can be talked into making the odd bird once in a blue moon. Just send me a pm if you're finding yourself needing one or two. :-)

The glass is first to reflect the happiness and contentment in my life right now and I hope to always be exploring, growing and sharing the wonder of this amazing medium..

About the artist..

Love of family and roots run deep and influence much of what is created in the studio. My journey has taken me to new and exotic places throughout the world and my work has evolved with me.
Familial elements are core and you will continue to see my Sweetwater roots in some shape or element of my work.

I live abroad with my husband..we enjoyed very much a 3 year span in Israel. We're now in Qatar, a small country near Dubai in the Persian Gulf. While overseas we've been blessed to see several parts of Europe I only dreamt of visiting. These wonderful adventures infuse and color my work. The glass reflects the beauty and peace and happiness that is my life right now.
I hope to always be evolving, creating and sharing the beauty and wonder of glass..

All work is lovingly made by me in my little sunny studio here in Qatar where we will be stationed for a couple of years.
I am an SRA member [Self-Representing Artist G30] which means that I am a staff of one.
The beads are properly inspected, properly annealed and properly cleaned by me.
