The art of coloured water
I have a profound love and respect for the natural world, and I strive to honour the earth as I journey through life. I opened this shop as a way to share my artwork with others, as I think it's important to celebrate nature.
I paint in watercolours using tiny paintbrushes, and I often work outside in natural spaces. I create my own high quality prints in studio, and print, dry, cut, and package each one individually by hand myself.
I spend a considerable amount of time being in nature and experiencing her beauty and worth. I am an environmentalist at heart and I take great effort in minimizing my footprint on the earth.
Making prints myself means that I have the ability to minimize energy, as well as material use and waste. My cardboard backing, envelopes and business cards are earth friendly and made from 100% recycled post consumer and post industrial biodegradable paper waste. My info and packing sheets are printed on EarthChoice paper which is Rainforest Alliance certified, Ecologo certified for reduced environmental impact, and FSC certified for global forest management standards. My printers and scanners are energy efficient and Energy Star certified.
I have a BSc in Biology and I research my materials and their effects on the planet and people, before purchasing and using them. I also create and paint with my own pigments that I extract naturally from earth.
It is important for me to create a product that is beautiful, archival, and that benefits the environment. I am so happy to be on this path!
