The seller was really great about getting this to me quickly in time for a birthday and both of the items I bought were a hit.

My wife absolutely loved this necklace. The quality was as good as I had hoped, and it was shipped promptly upon being ordered.

About

Delftia science jewelry

Once upon a time I studied metal working at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. but instead of opening a studio I found myself working on a project developing comic strip lessons for children in schools. I got drawn into education and decided to pursue a degree in psychology that one day I may even finish.

The days passed but the urge to create never left me and my disdain for mornings never declined. it was time for a change! A light bulb went off above my head-- I'm a nerdy armchair scientist and a metalworker. Why not create a line of jewelry inspired by science and nature?...
That's my friends, the story of how Delftia, my little shop, came to be.

Delftia jewelry is my attempt at expressing science through art. I strive to take the innate elegance of things and use my creativity to exemplify the grace in the natural world. However I aim to keep the science in the background so that every piece appears, first and foremost, as beautiful jewelry.

I design all of my jewelry, and to make them I use an assortment of classic and modern techniques, some of them are used in the electronic industry and are computerized modeling. However, the finishing touches of each piece are always the result of my hands. This means that each piece is slightly unique and of high quality.

Delftia acidovorans is a bacterium, that with the help of Cupriavidus metallidurans excretes gold nuggets. But don't worry! that's not where my jewelry comes from.

Additional policies and FAQs
Each piece or its finishing is hand made, so there may be minor variations from the photos and between identical pieces.

**IMPORTANT***
To keep your jewelry looking like new please follow these simple guidelines: Avoid getting your jewelry wet, such as showering or swimming while wearing it. Do not allow soaps, creams, sprays, or fragrances to come in contact with your jewelry. Please store it away from natural sunlight and heat and never store your jewelry in the bathroom. Never use polyvinyl plastic bags, such as trash can liners as they contain sulfur compounds, or rubber containers which will make your jewelry tarnish faster and possibly turn black.
To keep your jewelry in good condition, periodically wipe it gently with a dry, soft fabric.

**Hand lotion is the enemy! put your necklace/earrings on, before you are using your hand cream.
