Life is what happens while you're busy making plans

The last 10 years I have been always on the move. Moving in with my boyfriend who then became my husband, moving to another country, moving to a better place, moving back to my home town in rather depressing circumstances, and finally settling down just outside my home town in a beautiful village.

Why an artisan?
I never saw myself as being creative. Sure I seemed to have creative solutions to problems, thought out-of-the-box and was inventive. But an artist? I'm helpless at drawing, paintings? - God beware! And for some time that was all that art was to me. It took me so long to see that art is the inspiration, the idea, the creative solution....oops...I do have creative solutions! So I started to create things, I used glass tiles and made small objects as well as a large table top. And more out of some nesting instinct, I started to knit before our daugher was born.

On (and off) Knitting
I knitted for my daughter, then extended to my husband, then to me, then to relatives, and then...
I stopped. My PhD was taking up too much time. My mind was always preoccupied and I was constantly torn between my daughter, who was always sick when I put her in the childminders care, and my work, which didn't go anywhere. I was constantly stressed out, depressed, and exhausted. After we moved back to Germany , I still wasn't happy but I kind of gave up my PhD and re-started to knit. It was great and helped me settle down. When it was clear that I would never finish my doctorate I suddenly got all these creative ideas again. It seems as if I had some kind of "writers' block". Now I write something down every day, make sketches (if lousy ones) and I feel - fulfilled.

Why this shop?
I always wanted to make a living by doing something I truly love. I wanted to be able to use my brains, to create something unique and safe the world. Now, I always thought that world-changing things can only be achieved with a doctorate degree and scientific research. But there is a different way! By creating something for you, something you enjoy, I hope to bring a smile into your face. And when you smile at only a handful of people because of what you got from me, and those in turn smile at another handful of people...well, that changes the world, doesn't it?
And so I opened this shop, and now I restart it again - and this time it's for real.

Let's go and put a smile on your face!

You can track the item and get additional security through insurance of up to 500 pounds within the UK (no tracking and only up to 46 pounds for international delivery). So, if something gets lost, I can offer you a refund/replacement.
