Frequently asked questions

Is PLA toxic?

PLA is non-toxic however the specific brands may contain additives including dyes which may make it non safe. Then during the printing process the PLA can pick up materials such as metals from the printer.

However, even if the plastic is completely pure, microscopic pores in it would grow bacteria, it would need to be sealed with something like food-grade silicone first.
