Announcement   DenimDiva2day features original design long jean skirts, denim skirts, short jeans skirts and other garments from upcycled blue jeans.

Each item is unique, embellished using new and vintage fabrics and trims.

My focus is on denims but you will find all kinds of fabulous fun to wear clothing.

It is amazing what a specially made garment can do for your attitude. My customers tell me that they always have a good day when they wear one of my skirts.

Here is what one customer has to say - "Just darling and so unique. Why would anyone buy a skirt in a store when you can have one of these? Love it Joanne and thanks."

I encourage custom work, you CAN have that garment you just fell in love with made in your size.

I believe in quality garments, with inside edges finished and raw denim edges stabilized to keep fray at the designed amount, designed for years of wearing pleasure.

Stop back soon, more fun things appearing slowly.

See my other shop - http://www.etsy.com/shop/DeMasterDesigns Featuring accessories like fingerless gloves, legwarmers, one of a kind purses, slouchy hats and some fun new garments.

Thanks for shopping!!

Welcome to Denim Diva 2day!

I usually check my e-mails in the evening after 6PM. Please be patient I am not ignoring you.

Wondering if a garment will fit?

Remember only you can check to be sure an item will fit. I do want all my customers to love their purchases. Let me know if you have questions. If you see an item that you love but the size is wrong, most often I can make one like it in your size.

Here are 3 ways to be sure about fit, starting with the easiest method.

* * * * * * TO CHECK THE FIT OF A READY TO SHIP SKIRT * * * * * * *

The easiest way to tell if a skirt will fit is to put a string the length of waist measurement around your middle. This will show you where the skirt will ride on your body. Then do the same with the hips. Check the length from the waist down and you're good to go.

* * * * * * * * TO MEASURE AN EXISTING GARMENT FOR SIZE * * * * * * * *
Use this to give me measurements for a custom skirt or to compare one of your garments to one of my ready to ship skirts

* * * Lay the skirt or jeans out completely flat. As you measure stretch the garment out flat so there aren't any wrinkles or folds.

* * * Measure the waist straight across at the top of the waistband.

* * * Measure the length straight down the front of the skirt. This measurement is for reference only, you can change this number to the length you prefer for your new skirt.

* * * Measure the hips at the bottom of the zipper.

* * * You are done. Send me these numbers (waist, hip, length) in notes to seller. Let me know that you are sending me garment measurements and tell me about the skirt you measured. Was it denim or another fabric, and did it have stretch?

* * * * * * TAKING BODY MEASUREMENTS FOR A CUSTOM SKIRT * * * * * *

If you don't have a tape measure, a string and a ruler will work just fine. Don't use yarn - it stretches!

Measure your waist at the level you want the skirt to hang. Measure length down from where you measured the waist.

* * * * * * * * * * HOW TO TAKE BODY MEASUREMENTS * * * * * * *

· Natural Waist - Find the crease of your natural waist by bending to one side. Run the tape measure around your natural waistline, keeping one finger between the tape and your body for a comfortable fit.
· Low Waist - Run the tape measure around your body at the place you want your skirt to ride, keeping one finger between the tape and your body for a comfortable fit. Try to keep the tape approximately level with the floor.
· Hips - With your feet together, run the tape measure around the fullest part of your hips, about 7 to 8 inches below your natural waistline.
· Length - Measure length down from where you measured your waist.

· DO NOT add to the measurements for comfort. That addition is called wearing ease and I will add the correct amount when I choose the jeans for your skirt. See below if you want to learn about wearing ease.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * FYI * * * * * * * * * * * * *
* * * * * * * * * * * * * WHAT IS WEARING EASE? * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

The section below is just for your information. PLEASE do not add wearing ease to your measurements. Leave it to me. Thanks so much.

If you are comparing your body measurements to a garment's measurements, wearing ease is the extra fabric added to a garment so it is not the same size you are. You like to breathe and move don't you? I do.

Denim garments usually need about 1" in the waist and 2-3 " of ease in the hips for comfort. You can measure your own denim skirts to get a feel for how much ease you prefer.

* * * 0" will be tight and will probably cause the garment to ride up to a smaller part of your body. FYI, jeans (pants) can have 0" ease in the waist and/or hips because the legs help to keep them from riding up.
* * * 1 - 1 1/2" will be comfortably snug for most people.
* * * 3" is on the loose side for the waist and will cause the garment to ride a bit lower on your body than you intended. But 3" ease is fine in the hips.

* * * And just to complicate things stretch denims are usually the same or just a little smaller that your actual measurements.
