About

How It All Started

We are a small but perfectly formed design studio, inspired by childhood memories of design and creativity, of drawing, cutting and pasting to create something beautiful.

In 2008 our beautiful daughter was born and I decided to leave my job as a print manager/designer to spend time with her. I had quite enjoyed creating wedding stationery for myself, friends and family so thought why not set up my own company where I could work the hours I wanted and still spend time with my daughter. So in 2010 Denote Stationery was launched.

With a background in design and print, we’re proud of the friendly and personal service that we offer our customers. And we always make sure that we use ethical practices wherever possible.

There are some ready-made designs here waiting for you. But we love the challenge of a fresh project too. So contact us to discuss your needs, we’d love to hear from you!

Some of our letterpress designs are printed onto 100% cotton stock in our small but perfectly formed studio using our Adana Eight-Five.

There are some ready-made designs here waiting for you. But we love the challenge of a fresh project too. So contact us to discuss your needs, we’d love to hear from you!

Returns and exchanges
As a standard policy we only make refunds and exchanges if goods are faulty.

Any faults or defects must be relayed in writing within three days of receiving your order and your complete order returned to us, in its entirety, packed securely so as to avoid any damage likely to be incurred during transportation. If your stationery is deemed faulty on the part of Denote Stationery we will of course correct or replace your stationery. If it is not possible to re-supply your stationery with the same, Denote Stationery we will offer an alternative or similar replacement.

If we are unable to correct or replace your stationery. Denote Stationery will offer a full refund.

For custom work: We cannot be held responsible for any errors (spelling mistakes etc) that appear on your final product. The proof reading of all text and copy is down to you! So when you receive your electronic proofs from us please check them carefully, double check them and check them again! It may be worth getting someone else to take a look at the final proof as you may well have missed something that a fresh pair of eyes can see. We do strongly recommend that you print the electronic proofs supplied to you in order to view them to the correct size. We will not begin print production until we have received written confirmation from you that you are happy for us to proceed.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the nature of the printing process, press set-up, plates, ink and paper can all result in small variations. Differences in texture, colour, size and positioning can sometimes occur and do not constitute a fault or a refund.

UK Goods are sent via Royal Mail and Airmail to all other countries.
These options no not require a signature and are not tracked. Let us know If you prefer to upgrade the shipping and we would be happy to do do this for you for the extra cost of the upgrade.

We try to ship all ready made goods within 3 working day from receipt of payment.

Some goods posted outside the UK may be subject to import duties. We cannot be held responsible for this.
Additional policies and FAQs
For all custom orders:

1. We have an initial free consultation together.
Either by telephone, email or depending on your location, in person. We’ll then send you an estimation for costs and lead-times, you’ll usually receive this within 5-7 working days.

2. We’ll send you a contract.
Once you have approved your estimation, we request a 50% deposit of the estimated price.Once we have received this payment we’re ready to start the design process.

3. We send you your concepts
Within 3-5 weeks you will receive your concept, we discuss how you would like to move forward with this idea. We then go away and ‘fine tune’ it.

4. We present you with your final design.
This usually takes between 2-4 weeks depending on what’s involved. We then make any amendments that are needed until you’re happy to approve the proofs.

5. We send you an invoice for the remaining balance.
Once we have received payment we are ready to go to print.

6. Your order will be despatched.
Timings will vary for different printing methods.


F.A.Q.

Q: How environmentally friendly are you?
If there is an eco alternative we will always try to use it. We use 100% recycled paper and envelopes and 100% cotton (tree-free) paper and envelopes. We use digital presses that have achieved and maintain accreditations that underpin their commitment with the use of FSC (Forest stewardship council) chain of custody accredited paper in our products. In our studio, we recycle and reuse as much as we possibly can, from refillable ink cartridges to scrap paper.


Q: What paper options do you offer?
Most of your stationery is printed on either 100% recycled paper or cotton (tree free) paper and envelopes. However, if there is a particular card stock of envelope you require, or if you are looking for something a bit different, then please contact us to discuss what options are available.
