We are Desert Moss

We ditched our corporate/9 to 5 jobs to do what we love: hunt for treasures and share them with you. Esteban worked in PR and law and Megan worked in fashion design. While we lived in Portland, Oregon the shop was formally Pacific Wonderland Vintage and operated by Esteban. Megan came along and convinced the poor guy to move back to the Southwest so we changed the name to Desert Moss.

Currently we are raising our precious little boy/monster in Santa Fe, New Mexico and running this Etsy shop. We feel fortunate that we can be with our son while doing what we love. Thank you to all of our customers and Etsy for making that happen.

At Desert Moss we will focus all of our attention on you and your needs. We will do everything in our power to bring you the finest in vintage fashion, accessories and housewares. All items in our shop are inspected for quality, toiled over meticulously and handled carefully once they are in our possession. Some items will be washed (not dry cleaned) before we send them off. We want you to be happy. A happy you = A happy us.

PS - If there is something specific that you are looking for and you haven't found it on Etsy please let us know. We are always on the hunt and always come across many vintage pieces!

The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
  • Items on sale


Everything in our shop is vintage and sometimes those items have damage and/or wear.

We do not accept returns for wear.

What is considered wear:

- pilling
- threadbare fabric
- surface dirt
- loose stitching/threads
- fading
- missing labels
- lint
- hair (animal, etc)
- items left in pockets

We do our best to describe said damage and/or wear but sometimes we miss small flaws. We do not launder our items. We disclose approximate measurements as well as the brands/labels we are selling. Photos are considered a portion of the description. There may be slight variations to the color of the item from what the photographs represent. Please keep in mind that vintage/retro sizing tends to be different than modern sizing so we recommend comparing our measurements to something you own.

If for some reason we do accept a return, item(s) MUST be shipped back within 24 hours of receipt.

We do not cover costs of shipping to return the item to us (we do not provide pre-paid shipping labels)

Exchanges must be sent back 24 hours after delivery.

We are not responsible for items lost or incorrectly delivered by postal/parcel carrier services.
We accept Paypal and credit cards (Visa and Mastercard).

Money Orders are accepted but they MUST come from an accredited financial institution (bank/credit union) or the United States Postal Service.
We will ship most items via USPS Priority Mail. If we have included the price of Flat Rate shipping but you wish to have it shipped First Class Mail ("Snail Mail") then please let us know and we will happily accommodate your needs. Other shipping prices vary according to each items size, weight, and zone according to USPS.

On occasion shipping cost will be less than price charged at USPS, but please be aware that we are factoring in shipping supplies, gasoline, and time away from the shop.

International customers: if your parcel weighs over 4lbs it will be shipped in a USPS large priority mail flat rate box or equivalent.

Items shipped include cost of tracking/confirmation number - domestic USA only.

We are aware that the prices are pretty high, especially if you live outside the US. However, these are the prices you will find on the USPS website. If you have an alternate shipping method you would like to use please let us know and we will be more than happy to work with you.

Note to International Customers: Customs Forms will reflect the Etsy price. Please do not ask us to alter this.

We are more than happy to place an item on hold BUT we have to ask for a small non-refundable deposit if the item is to be reserved longer than 48 hours. Deposit will be made via PayPal. After 48 hours the item(s) will lose the reserved status if no deposit is made.

Sometimes pictures may appear a bit different (color, shading) due to lighting.

All items will be shipped within 3-5 business days from purchase date unless we are out of town. When we travel away from our shop for extended periods of time we will keep our shop open. We will send your purchase out as soon as we get back.
