Announcement   We're getting ourselves back into a rhythm after all the chaos of the year so far. We thank everyone who has been patient and understanding through our injuries, grief, and other trials.

Our goals are fairly simple, although the execution of them is not always so. We blend teas that are supported by tradition and science. We make sure the ingredients we use are organic or ethically wild-crafted whenever possible, and that they are recognizable in the tea. (Not a fan of tea-dust or oils.) When blending a custom tea, when given the opportunity, I check the herbs against any modern medicine being used, to ensure that they complement each other, rather than fighting with each other. When there are standard warnings that should be applied to a particular herb, I make sure the people choosing our teas know about them.

Nuts & Bolts: Shipping is sometimes complicated. For orders involving multiple items, it may be better to contact me directly. We do ship internationally, although, again, contacting me directly will allow me to streamline shipping. Additionally, the shipping method we use requires a phone number for international orders. (This will never be shared or used for any purpose other than shipping.)

About

Teas, Cocoas, and Coffees that taste as good as they are good for you.

Desert Sage Natural grew out of a number of deeply personal concepts and circumstances for my partner and me.

Part of it came out of the fact that I suffer from chemical sensitivities, and have been becoming steadily more allergic to most pharmaceutical medicines. Another part of it was frustration with the “throw everything at the problem” mentality that many tea companies have. My research indicated that fewer ingredients was better, and if you truly wanted efficacy, you needed to have the shortest list that seemed appropriate.

We began with the teas we most needed, and slowly branched out, adding other teas as issues came up. After a while, we started being encouraged more and more to actually open a shop, so that more people would have access to our work, and so that we would stop stretching ourselves too thin giving away these teas that worked so well.

Starting a company takes a different sort of research, and a lot of decision-making, some on the fly, some in the foundational stages. We decided that Desert Sage Natural was going to be as green and sustainable as we could manage, starting with our ingredients and moving right on through the whole process to our packaging and shipping materials.

We also decided that we would be aiming for both tasty and effective as best we could, no matter the issue we were tackling.

We have continued, as we have grown, to keep all these goals in mind. We want to create teas, both medicinal and tasty, that are good for you, keeping both the person and the environment we live in in mind, while striving to keep our footprint down, in all aspects of producing our teas. All of the containers we use for our teas are either compostable or recycling, as is our packaging for shipping, and the teabags we use are among the highest rated for safety. We are always open to new ideas, on all aspects of what we use and how we approach our business and teas. If you have an idea for greener operation, or even just for a new tea, please ask.

I accidentally became an herbalist over a decade ago, due to need. Mister Tea and I opened the shop after years of prodding by friends and family. We've had a ton of fun adding tasty things to our lineup, and hope to continue to create.

Welcome to Desert Sage Natural.
Our goal is to help you to find teas to either help with your health, or improve your well-being - or both. I am always willing to make suggestions, or create a tea to mesh easily into the things already in your life, and to personal tastes.

Thank you for having a look around.

Payment
For the most part, we prefer Paypal. However, if there is another method you would rather use, please contact me directly, and we can figure something out.
Shipping
For the time being, all of our orders are shipped via the USPS. Usually, they are sent first class. Occasionally priority mail is forced due to package size, for larger orders. If you wish to receive something with a faster guaranteed speed, please contact me directly.

The other primary important note is that we cannot easily estimate the amount of time an order will spend in customs. Additionally, any duties incurred on the other end are the buyer's responsibility.
Refunds and Exchanges
We do our level best to make sure no damage will occur in shipping. However, if there is a problem, please let me know within a day or so of arrival, and we will see what can be managed.

Beyond that, refunds and returns are a bit odd with things like herbal preparations - especially teas. However, our priority is you (with the hope of managing something resembling a living eventually), so if there are issues, let me know, and we can discuss a solution.
Additional policies and FAQs
Most of this is comon sense, however, the modern world is fairly litigious, so.... All wrapped up together, here are the disclaimers that litigiousness requires of us.

* We are not officially attached to or licensed by or otherwise involved with any of the official agencies of the fandoms we homage. If any of these agencies have an issue with our teas, please let us know, and we will work things out.

**I am not a doctor. The FDA (and a myriad of other agencies) have not decided that any of this is fact. While we draw on science as well, for the most part, even when there is research indicating the efficacy of herbs, they have not been formalized as treatment metholodologies.

***I am also not a psychologist or psychiatrist. No mood tea that I formulate is directly intended to replace any psychiatric medication. If you are taking any form of psychiatric medication, you should consult both me and your doctor before drinking one of our SereniTeas. The side effects and contraindications for practically all psychiatric meds are long and complicated, and I really prefer to look into them before suggesting a tea.

****Lastly, I am not a vet. I have studied texts written by holistic vets (most of whom either started in allopathic medicine, or use both methods in their practices.) I apply the same standard of research to my pet teas that I do the ones for their bipeds. This includes needing to know about any medications they are currently being given.
