About

Before "Steampunk" was named Steampunk!

I guess the important thing about this story is how I even got started here on Etsy. Easy...once upon a time (2010) a friend said, "Hey, you should sell your stuff on Etsy!". And, of course, at that time "Etsy" was pretty much in its infancy and not a lot of people new the name or what it was. I was one of them. Long story short, I signed up as a seller in 2011.

Firstly, I'm not one of those sellers that decide, "Oh...I can do that and sell them on Etsy too!" Slapping gears together and calling it "Steampunk" is not what this is all about. I'm a legit designer. I've been an artist pretty much all my life. So, thousands of so called "Steampunk Jewelry Designers" joined up and drowned this niche...and pretty much lowered the standards of design. That, of course, until they find my shop.

Professionally I'm a retired, Champion Florist of 22 years. I dabbled with making handcrafted jewelry using old brass and silver, crystals and rhinestones, clock parts and all as far back as 1990. Before the 2000's the term "Steampunk" wasn't coined yet. I always had a fascination with the Victorian era and its artisans of that period. I couldn't help it. I'm a resident of Hawaii. I'm part native Hawaiian. Hawaii was once a Monarchy until the "bully white business man" did something about that. But, that's a whole different story. I loved everything about the detailing of 19th century artists. I'm also a modern Science Fiction geek! And Victorian Science Fiction stories made this genre fascinating and beautiful!

As I've mentioned before, THOUSANDS of so called "wanna-be's" drowned the Steampunk Jewelry niche and legit artists get lost. You'll find that I try my best to always be one step ahead of my competition in design. Soooooo many people have copied my designs and techniques that it's so frustrating to stay on top. I can't beat this situation but my art wins at the end. Although now I'm lost in the crowd, I'm always happy to deal with the customer who finds me and purchases items always leaving terrific feedback! It's worth it at the end. Customer satisfaction. Also knowing they are getting something special and unique. I love my customers!

And here I am today. Doing what I love and always trying to be on step ahead of the "wanna be's".

Shipping
Your order is shipped in a bubble lined envelope (smaller items) or a USPS Priority box where you will find your item gifted in a jewelry box along with a "thank you" gift.

SHIPPING:

All shipping to the U.S. will be done USPS First Class Mail. Larger items will be shipped USPS Priority or if your package weighs more than 8 ounces. It normally takes 3-6 days to arrive once it's been mailed out. International orders can take 7 - 10 days to arrive and will also be sent USPS First Class Parcel. All packages will have a tracking number assigned to it so you can check status on your own on the route of your package (US addresses only).

****International Shipping: Customers from outside the USA should be aware of their own country's customs fee or Valued Added Tax (VAT) threshold. Be aware that you are responsible for those fees when your package arrives. This is not included in your shipping charges. Right now, I know that the UK starts charging you VAT and handling fees for items valued over £15 (about $23). The charge is 20% of the value of the merchandise and an £8 handling fee. Please take this into consideration when making a purchase and that you know that once you pass your country's threshold you will be charge VAT and handling charges on your end. It is your responsibility to take care of those custom charges.

So far, packages sent to Australia and New Zealand have been arriving on average of about 7 days from Hawaii. Packages sent to France, the UK, and Netherlands have been arriving on average of about 9 days from Hawaii. Canada and East Coast US have been arriving on average of about 6 days from Hawaii.

Generally, US Postal says it takes at least 10 days for packages to arrive to International destinations. Some countries take a little longer which is all dependent on their Customs Inspectors.

Hawaii is part of the US. Let's not forget that. We are not a "foreign" destination so consider us as part of the "west coast" of the US. We are 2 hours (daylight savings time) behind in time to California/West Coast and 5 hours behind the East Coast. If it's 9am in New York it'll be 4am in Hawaii. You do the math when considering a quick response when sending me a convo. I usually start my "work" at 9:00 am Hawaii time or a bit sooner. I handle all convos first thing in the morning.

I have had difficulties with shipping to RUSSIA and countries in the MIDDLE EAST and recently FRANCE (higher security as of late). I will no longer offer shipping to those countries. ONLY special requests.
Refunds and Exchanges
Please make sure to ask questions ("Conversation" me) on any items before your purchase. LOOK AT THE PICTURES CAREFULLY. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE "ZOOM" FEATURE TO GET A BETTER INSPECTION. Obviously these are handcrafted items and each piece unique. SALES ARE FINAL if it is a "customized" piece or made-to-order.

If for some reason you are not satisfied with your item please message me and explain your reason. It is helpful and beneficial for me to get input in order to maintain good service and quality assurance. Should you decide you want to return the item please make sure that it gets back to me in perfect condition. After I receive your package I will inspect it and give you a full refund via PayPal. I will message you back immediately after the transaction has been made.

If you do not get in touch with me within 60 days I will consider this sale FINAL and non-refundable.
Additional policies and FAQs
I acquire brass pieces in my findings dealing with many, many vendors here on Etsy but mostly from one supplier in the US. I DO NOT MAKE brass molds or deal with melting or firing down metals. I don't work with precious metals or stones. I use only Swarovski Crystals. I use E6000, clear adhesive for permanent setting and 3D Crystal Lacquer for images set under glass. Images are all digital made from various Etsy Artists who sell digital collage sheets.
