About

From Journalism to Jewelry

The Deuce studio is located in my 1920s West Seattle home. I live there with my partner Joel (the sweetest person you'll ever meet), and our little dog, Brooklyn Beardsley. I attended Western Washington University where I received a degree in Journalism.
Jewelry has always been a huge part of my life; especially those items that contain natural stones. During vacations to Montana as a young girl, I would pan for gold and purchase turquoise and crystals from local shops, and always found it hard to resist anything handmade at local indie shops.
My most cherished pair of earrings as a child, a set of silver and turquoise studs, was a gift from my dad on one of our many Montana road trips. In fact, I still have them in my collection. As I grew older, my favorite accessory continued to be earrings (the bigger the better).
I've always loved Etsy and have been a proud member since 2008, but after buying jewelry for many years, I finally decided to start creating my own. Once I became comfortable with my craft, I began wearing my pieces and was surprised by the number of people who inquired about them. After I admitted that they were my designs, people began requesting custom pieces. And the rest, as they say, is history.
I feel very thankful that every day I get to do what I love, and blessed to have discovered this hidden talent, What's most exciting, however, is the amount of positive feedback I've received from my work. It really is a dream come true.
