A Dream Finally Realized
I became interested in creating and selling my artwork at a very early age. I have no idea of where I dreamed this up, but In the 4th grade I organized an art gallery show in one of the garages in the apartment complex where I lived. I solicited friends and classmates to submitted their artworks to be sold. At only 9-years-old, I was savvy enough to collect a 10% commission!
My interest in art eventually steered me towards receiving a masters in Art History. My interest in art and all things quirky led me to write and publish my first and last book, "Killer Art; Art That Has Maimed, Killed or Caused General Destruction!" You can find it on Amazon for pennies!
I was always producing artwork but kept it separate from my varied and interesting jobs. One job cannot be listed due to it's PG-13 rating! Finally, my imagination was reignited after attending first Mardi Gras in New Orleans! I fell in love with the city immediately. This magical city felt like home unlike no other place I resided -even in childhood.
After Hurricane Katrina almost destroyed my beloved city, it dramatically changed every resident in this city. Life priorities shifted from the mundane day-to-day living to recognizing more important parts of life: the love of family and friends as well as finding meaningful ways to contribute to the city and beyond. People switched jobs to careers that were more meaningful and fulfilling. I decided to return to making art, but in a new and challenging medium. Etsy was the perfect community to sell my jewelry because it has a Karmic element to it. I have made connections and developed friendships with talented artists and artisans who continue to provide me help, advice, and support! This is my career. Forever.
Lynn A. Powers
Owner, Maker, Designer, Curator, Jewelry Designer
I was born in New England & finally found my true home after going to Mardi Gras in New Orleans. I have explored many creative passions & finally discovered that with my various artistic abilities in many mediums, jewelry design was my true calling!
I am fortunate that I am able to work from home and let my creativity run wild! I hope you find my work as fun and interesting as I do!
I handcraft and design every piece of jewelry. Each is a one-of-a-kind piece and will not duplicated.
Due to nature of the craft, you may find some slight irregularities (e.g. shape, evenness, textures, etc.). This is what makes mha jewelry truly charming and distinctive. Remember, only machine manufactured jewelry will look consistent. My handmade pieces allows you to be the only person in the world wearing an original piece of jewelry!
Thank you for taking the time to look at my shop and I hope you will find something that piques your interest.
Feel free to contact me with any questions or compliments!
