About

My path to becoming a jeweler

I have always loved anything artistic. I started out as a hairdresser and owned my own shop for many years. My love of creativity also led me down many other paths while I worked in my salon. I have been a stained glass artist and a Minister of Music to name a couple.

In recent years, I became somewhat disabled and had to give up my job behind the chair. I needed to find something else to do... something I could physically do. When I became involved in jewelry making, I just felt like I had found my calling once again. I can sit while working and still keep the creative process going but it's more than that. I love everything about it. I am constantly amazed that this art is always new and fresh to me. I miss the face to face contact with people on a daily basis, but I feel so blessed to have found this.

Since beginning my career as a jeweler I have studied cold connections under Preston Reuther, and silver smithing under Heidi Bundy. I have learned to develop my own style as time has passed and have been presented with awards for my work. I have also been commissioned to make a piece that was given to Kristen Stewart of "Twilight" and recently ABC television collaborated with me to create a necklace that was used in the series "Mistresses". This piece actually had a part in the 9th episode of the show and was worn by actress Jes Macallan as she played the character Josslyn Carver.

I try to make each piece as if it is going to be worn by someone special, because in my mind it is. I am honored to touch the lives of you, my customers, in a small way by sharing my art with you. And my hope is that what you buy will stand the test of time and make your life a bit more special through the years to come.

Returns and exchange details
Please note: no item may be returned without contacting us first. I accept refunds or exchanges on certain items provided the buyer contacts me within 7 days of receiving the items and they are returned to me unworn in their original packages and postmarked within one week of receiving the item. Shipping fees are non refundable unless the fault lies with us.

Items that are not eligible for return or exchange include:
*Custom pieces made in your size, with your choice of stone, with the finish or changes you requested, or personalized for you with your choice of name, initial or wording.
*Custom hand stamped pieces. This includes team numbers, phrases, names and words. This does not include single initial disks sold with charm necklaces.
*Custom sized bracelets that are not "average" in size.
*Custom made sized rings (Please understand that having more than 1 item listed only means that I have raw material in stock to make that many, not that there is a ring made waiting to be shipped in all the various sizes.)
*Earrings of any nature. (This is a health issue.)
*Sale items
*Destash items or ring sizers

Items that are “ready to ship” are eligible for refund less shipping unless they have been altered to suit the customers’ needs. (Chain length is waived.)

A 30% restocking fee for karat gold and 20% for other metals may apply to any refund other than items bought as “ready to ship” or any order I have begun working on after a cancellation has been requested.

All packages over 50.00 are automatically insured and all international packages are insured regardless of value. If a claim needs to be filed please understand that I must follow the insurance providers terms and conditions before payment can be made. The buyer is always required to participate in this process. International claims cannot be filed until a full 6 week waiting period has been met in order to give the packages time to reach their destinations and get through customs. Claims then must be completed before 120 days after the sale date in order to be valid. If customers wait past the 120 day period to report non delivery they automatically forfeit their right to file a claim.

ABOUT INTERNATIONAL ORDERS: Many countries also impose VATs, taxes or duties. It is the buyers responsibility to determine what these fees will be and pay them. We are in no way accountable for any fees your country imposes. Any package refused and sent back because of said fees will not be given a refund. Please do NOT ask us to write GIFT on your package. It is illegal to do so even if it is a gift from you to another person. If it has been purchased from us that makes it merchandise and it must be sent as such. To do otherwise could cause us to lose our business license and suffer fines and/or jail time. Thank you for your kind understanding in this regard.

Please make sure your address is correctly entered when making your purchase. Items eligible for refunds returned to me marked undeliverable-as-addressed will be charged a 30% restocking fee to cover materials and return postage or a minimum of the costs incurred by me. Original postage fees are non-refundable.

Please understand that I have to follow shipping rules with various countries with regard to what may be shipped within their borders. Also shipping to some countries is not covered by my third party insurance provider. If an order comes from one of these countries I will have no choice but to cancel the sale and refund any money paid. If you are unsure of shipping where you live, please contact me before making your purchase.

EU BUYERS PLEASE READ BEFORE PURCHASING:
The only jewelry I sell to the EU is considered "custom" (it is made in your size, with your choice of stone, with the finish or changes you requested, or personalized for you), this means the item is not returnable under the European Union Directive on Consumer Rights, right of return. This right does not extend to custom-made products and certain perishable goods, unless otherwise specified by the seller. If you wish to cancel please do so within 1 hour of purchase as once made there will be a minimum 30% restocking fee to cover time making and materials. There are no refunds once mailed. Once the item arrives in many cases your local post office will hold it for collection of VATs. Please check with your local post office in a timely manner to see if the item might need to be picked up. No refunds will be given on orders not picked up or refused and returned to me.
Payment
We accept credit cards through Etsy's Direct Checkout and PayPal as our methods of payment. An account is not required to pay by check, debit or credit card through PayPal. Payment in full must be received and cleared before orders are filled or shipped. Please note that if you choose to use an E-check through PayPal it can delay creation and shipment of your piece by as much as one to two full weeks. PayPal will not allow shipment until all money is deemed cleared by them.
Shipping
I ship first class via USPS. Domestic first class shipping is free. Upgrades are available to purchase if you choose. Please understand that sometimes the mail will run slower than other times. I have no control over this. All times given from the USPS are estimates. Estimated times are as follows for selected shipping times:

DOMESTIC:
First Class: 2-5 days
Priority: 1-3 days
Priority Express: 2 days

INTERNATIONAL:
* First Class: 2 weeks to 1 month (does NOT include delays at customs)
* Priority International: 6-10 days (does NOT include delays at customs)
* Priority Express: 3-5 days (does NOT include delays at customs)
* International orders marked as "gift" will include either a gift message if requested or a receipt without pricing inside the packaging. The shipping label will still show pricing in order to comply with custom laws.

The shipping times given do NOT include making time. Please understand that if you are ordering a piece of jewelry that has to be crafted it does take time first to make the piece. If you are in a hurry and need the piece quicker than the estimated "ship by" date please speak to me about it and I will try my best to work with you. I an effort to keep shipping costs down packages under 100.00 are not sent with signature confirmation unless you add it during checkout. Packages over 100.0 include signature confirmation by default.

USA: Please make sure your address is confirmed by the USPS, otherwise it might cause delays in shipping.

PLEASE NOTE: We cannot be responsible for packages stolen from your address after they have been marked as delivered by the Post Office. We will try to help you resolve this by opening a case with the USPS on your behalf, but you will most likely have to speak to your local post master and file a local police report for mail theft. To prevent this from happening we highly recommend adding Signature Confirmation to your package as it will provide you proof of your delivery. All packages over 100.00 will be sent Signature Required unless you send me a message through Etsy's convo system PRIOR to our printing the shipping label.
Additional policies and FAQs
Properly cared for jewelry made from precious metals will last for generations to come. Please keep delicate items in their own box, away from heavy pieces that could damage them. Use the correct cleaning products to care for each piece.

Stamped words and phrases or stamped pieces customized in various ways are non-refundable. Please also note that stamping is done completely by hand. You will see variations in stamped pieces like lettering not lined up perfectly. This is the nature of hand made and is not considered a flaw; rather it adds a unique character to a piece.

We do not knowingly sell jewelry intended for small children and babies. There are laws governing the sale of jewelry to children under 12 years of age involving testing in outside labs that we are unable to pay for. Please do not ask us to make jewelry for someone this age. If you make a purchase and tell us that it is your intent to give it to a child we will have no choice but to cancel the sale. you will see many shops selling these items with specific intentions for babies and children. We ask that you remember that these sellers may not be aware of these laws as they are individuals running a small business from their homes.We ask your kind understanding in this matter. This Privacy Policy describes how and when I collect, use, and share information when you purchase an item from me, contact me, or otherwise use my services through Etsy.com or its related sites and services.

Care instructions

It is recommended that you remove jewelry for exercise, swimming and bathing, etc. Protect it from things like detergent, sweat, cosmetics and hairspray.

A soft jewelry cloth is most often recommended for jewelry care. In many cases a soft toothbrush and soapy water will clean jewelry. Please ask about a specific piece if you do not know how to care for your jewelry.

Custom and personalized orders

Custom orders are made specifically for you and are not returnable. Custom orders include rings in a specific size, names, initials and words, and other items that are designed specifically for you.

Sizing details

If you don't know your ring size, it is highly recommended that you go to a fine jewelry store and ask them to size your finger. Sizes vary on each hand so be sure to get the correct finger sized.

Wholesale availability

We do not offer wholesale.

International orders

If you ordered from outside the USA please know that some countries do not allow tracking after it leaves the international airport in the United States.

EU buyers- please note Etsy (not me) has posted prices as VAT included "where applicable" when showing prices. I am in the US and cannot legally collect VAT- you will be charged VAT when your item arrives and in most cases it will be held for you to pick up and pay them at your local post office. The price shown likely does not reflect the price of the VAT.

Items being shipped from the USA to other countries can take from 1 to 6 weeks to arrive depending on the destination, although the latter is unusual.
