Announcement   Hi!

I’m Odilia, aka Pickle, the designer behind Dill’s Designs.

My Etsy shop is the result of my family and friends asking me to sell my home grown Job’s Tears bead art (pronounced Jobes) and other hand crafted items online, so that they can be made available to a wider audience.

Job’s Tears are seeds that when planted grow into a beautiful, corn-like plant that later produces lots of multicolored beads/seeds. The beads have a natural hole through the center, have a beautiful shine and come in a mixture of earthy, organic and muted colors. Upon researching the natural bead, and its history, I learned that there are biblical ties to the bead as well as Native American.

My interest in working with Job’s tears beads came from my father, Tommy. He grew the beads and gave them to me to make rosaries. Shortly after making rosaries, I was asked by family and friends to make pocket and car rosaries. From there my ideas expanded to bookmarks, earrings and bracelets.

The beads used in Dills Designs items were grown by my father who used to hand pick each bead. My father passed in March, 2015 so now my brother Lester tends to the small crop. I inspect each bead and choose only the best ones for my designs.

Success for me is measured by having happy, return customers who enjoy my items as much as I enjoy making them.

Thank you for visiting Dill’s Designs
