In my shop, I have tried to come up with unique items and examples of good stitching, design, and technique. I encourage you to convo me about techniques and look at my YouTube videos for demonstrations. The type of needlework that I do is becoming less and less common, but it can be a joy to accomplish. I hope that people will enjoy my work and be encouraged to learn how to do it. If you purchase something, you receive the exact item you see in the photo.

About my materials:
All of the pendants are embroidered using Edmar Brazilian embroidery thread. This is a special rayon thread that has been made specifically for Brazilian embroidery, now also called dimensional embroidery. Some stitchers insist that for dimensional embroidery to be Brazilian embroidery, it has to be done with this special thread, otherwise it's called dimensional embroidery. Okay.. I think part of the reason for this is that the Brazilian embroidery thread, as great as it is, is so hard to work with that anyone who manages to get it right finally, wants credit! I'm only sort of kidding. This thread has been made the same way for at least a couple hundred years, and sometimes when it's getting all twisted up in your hands in the middle and unraveling at the end, you would agree that it's downright barbaric. There are those who say this is happening because you are trying to work with your thread upside down, by which I mean, the knot is at the wrong end and you are stitching with the thread twist going the wrong way. But sometimes, even when I've double checked, bad things still happen.
But I have lots and lots of this thread. The colors are so beautiful. Even when I abandon it for cotton or linen or wool or something because some other thread makes the stitching so easy...but then when I go back, I realize that the stitches don't look as good as they could with the Edmar thread.

I embroider on eco fi felt. You can google eco fi if you would like to see the company site and see how good it is. No, it's not wool, it's made from recycled plastic bottles. I have nothing against wool, but the reason I don't use it isn't just because a recycled material is available. It's because for my purposes, the eco fi felt is superior. It's uniformly even and doesn't lint or fuzz the way wool can.

About my prices:

I did my market research before I decided to give this little venture a go..When I was learning this type of embroidery, the women that are learned from were the best. I would look at the things that they would make and know that they were fit for a princess. And they wouldn't sell them. They would sell you a kit so that you could make one for yourself. They said they could never get a fair price for all the work they had put into something

My videos have been online for a couple of years before I decided to become an online seller, and people have found them useful for learning. I hope this shows my dedication to the craft and art above all else.

Sincerely,
Maris

CUSTOM ITEMS:
I have decided to do custom items in intervals, so i will take custom items when the request custom option is active. Please remember al items are one of a kind, so i will not duplicate items that you see in the "sold items" section.

Pricing for custom items is determined by how long it takes me to come up with a design and execute it, but will be in the same price range as items of similar size and complexity as items in the shop, IF you have a fairly good idea of what you would like,* for instance, if you tell me you like the flower/s on a certain necklace/s and want flowers like those but in another color or on another color of felt, chain, etc.

I try to keep most of the frames that you see in stock, but some are hard to get or discontinued, in that case i will try to come up with another option that is satisfactory to you. Brazilian thread can also difficult to get and/or certain colors are hard to find, although i do keep a large supply on hand. I also have other types of thread as seen in some of the other items/jewelry in the shop.

PAYMENT for custom items is due upon my acceptance of your request and is non-refundable, with certain exceptions listed here.** A reserve listing will be set up for you to pay.

Feel free to contact me with any questions etc. that you have.

*if you don't really know what you want, i'll try and help you as best as i can. but i might have to decide not to take the request depending on the vibe that i'm getting.
no hard feelings.
**WARNING: if you want a seahorse, you pay a $20 non refundable deposit, and when the seahorse is done and we are both happy, you pay for the rest. if you don't like it, i'll make one more, and that's it. if you don't like it the second time, you're out $20.
BECAUSE seahorses can be hard to make since i make a long stitch and bend it into a seahorse. It's not easy and I might perspire a little. If you see one in the store and you like it enough, just buy it! i do make a lot of seahorses on my private artwork, and they are all unique, maybe you like one and not another as much, so i have to charge you for my time and aggravation.
ALSO, the pendant frames large enough for a seahorse are hard to get. i have to order them from Istanbul, and if they make it through everything that goes on, i get them in about a month. I have two frames right now, and i think one has a slight dent in the back. i'm looking for a better supply source, but haven't found one that won't bump up the price a lot.
But if you insist...i'll try my best.

PEACE!
:)
