About

Tribute to my Aunt Bess

Born in a major East Coast City & raised on the hustle & bustle of city life, I'm as surprised as anyone to be living in the Midwest. Being here has made me appreciate that people are people wherever you go.

Over the years, I've been a collector. I hate to see beautiful things go to waste. I have a large stock of vintage patterns. Many from older ones who knew I would hate to see them in a landfill.

Here in the heartland, estate sales are a source of real treasure. I started my shop to make my patterns & crafting supplies available for sale. Now it's time to include vintage treasures & handmade items.

I'm adding a member to my shop. My much loved aunt moved here to be near me with her husband & soulmate. It was wonderful having them near.

Bess was a creative person with boundless imagination & most cherished, a real love for people. She created many things I will be selling in my shop. Sadly, in recent years she had a decline in health and passed away in 2014 after a long battle with cancer.

Bess was an inspiration. She loved life and hated to leave her family. Her photo shows her vitality during her fight. This is the poem she wrote for her memorial program:

Dedication to Life

Inside my heart there beats a tune that just won’t stop.
Can you hear it? Can you feel it? I stop and look there it
goes again, beep beep, that’s the sound dedicated to life,
yours and mine

Never gonna give up, never gonna stop feeling, never stop
hearing. My heart goes on and on, for I am dedicated to life.
Time does not stand still for any, so stop, look and give in to
your heart

There it goes, beep beep, my heart is now a part of your heart,
for I am dedicated to life.

Dedicated to life, my heart, your heart.
Dedicated to life, hard times,
good times, in every way stay
dedicated to life.

I love you all, “Bessie”

Any of her items I sell, will go to cover her expenses or requests she made to me regarding charitable donations she had in mind. I miss her terribly, but am happy to have a tribute to her here.

She was brave & strong & good. And so talented. She could make anything. Was always willing to spend time to teach me how to quilt or design jewelry, tailor a garment or explore creative answers to my design challenges. I hope in some way she lives on in the things she's made.
