Love my bowls! They complete my set. The seller was very responsive to my concerns for shipping and packaged them so well that my boyfriend was amazed when he unpacked them as there were several layers of protective packaging. They were also sent Fed Ex and insured so my purchase was protected in 2 ways!🎈
Rehoming Done Right
A life-long lover of all things vintage, Danna began her beloved Etsy shop, DollFood, when a move necessitated a painful paring down of her extensive vintage collections. Yes, no doubt about it - a boring, typical beginning for sure, but since then, she has oftentimes found more fun in rehoming than in keeping all of the great finds she comes across, and has turned her good eye into a true passion. The purpose of DollFood is to help each amazing orphaned item find its most natural new home to live in, and, at the same time, pair it up with the perfect person who will care for it and give it a "forever" home. Even better if the end result is an upcycling or creative use of a previously thrown away or thought to be useless or worn out object! You will often hear her mumbling to herself at Estate Sales, thrift stores, etc., phrases such as, "Well, SOMEONE'S going to want this," and, "May not be everyone's cup of tea, but..." We are pretty sure that she's been reported for this type of odd behavior, as there are certain second-hand stores where she spends hours on end, and the whir of the security cameras adjusting as she moves through the stores can be quite disturbing.☺
If this whole "re-homing" concept sounds a bit suspicious to you - almost like adopting homeless dogs, maybe - that's because she has also spent the last 12 years rescuing as many dogs as possible from Hearts United for Animals (HUA), an amazing no-kill shelter outside of Auburn, Nebraska, that not only serves the midwest, but rehomes dogs across the country with their Smithsonian Institute award-winning Jet Set Dogs program. You will no doubt see several HUA alums in various photos of her vintage finds, doing their best to get in the way, and, rarely, posing (albeit accidentally) for that perfect shot. They and the rest of the dogs she can assist through her regular donations to HUA (hua.org) benefit greatly from DollFood's success.
Stop and shop regularly! You just never know what delectables she's going to find for you.
Finding the story in "things," Danna is an avid orphan re-homer, with a special love for mid century, retro, and (honestly) all things vintage.
Dolly & Besa
Will work for snacks! Our specialty is, "Barketing and Tails." Most of the time, we do our best to mess up shots, but every once in a while, there's a blissful moment of zen where we actually enhance an item's photo (purely accidental, mind you).
Accepted payment methods
- Accepts Etsy gift cards
Please double check that your shipping address on file with Etsy is correct. If you require any special address adjustments, be sure to include these instructions in a note to seller as you check out.
Items purchased are carefully packed and usually mail within two to three business days of payment received. USPS Priority Mail is the preferred shipment method, although First Class, Parcel Post, Media Mail, or Fed Ex may be necessary in some cases due to size, weight, contents, etc.
Estimates given include packing and supplies where necessary, are based on shipping calculators, and are just that -- estimates. DollFood will refund any major shipping overages just as the buyer is responsible for additional payment for any major shipping deficits. We use a combination of recycled and/or new packing material as needed to do our best to try to ensure the irreplaceable goods we offer arrive in the same condition they left us in.
DollFood is not responsible for any damages once your package is dropped off for shipment. Check out our feedback and you will see that we package your goodies VERY well! Insurance is optional and you may wish to consider adding it, especially if your order is expensive, delicate, or highly breakable. Be sure you request any extra shipping services such as this at check-out time through a note to seller, and you will be contacted via the Etsy conversation system with directions for how to pay for it. In the highly unlikely event that you would actually need to make a claim, your insurance coverage is through the shipping carrier and requires that you work with them to do so.
Refunds and Exchanges
Items listed under "Vintage" are just that -- old! They have been used and loved so will often show it. One person's vintage treasure might be another's vintage trash, and opinions on condition vary greatly! If you have any questions about condition, make sure you convo us prior to checking out. We make no guarantees that vintage items that have moving parts (i.e. electronics or manual items such as scales) will function for you, even if they did under our possession. The mere act of a package entering the mail stream includes unavoidable jostling of that item's internal parts while in transit that we have no control of, and no matter how well an item is packed, this can mean that a vintage item with moving parts may have reduced or no functionality at all by the time it gets to you. Many vintage items are made so well that this is not an issue, but others can suffer just from being so darn old that they can't help but be a bit delicate. If you are within driving distance, we'd be thrilled to arrange for pick-up (free!) or even delivery (negotiable) of any one of DollFood's delectable items.
We really want you to dance with joy when you receive your order from us, so will you please let us know that you got it (we really care about both you and your order!) and ask us if you have any issues or questions about it? If you’re pleased with your purchase, please feel free to leave us feedback. If there are any issues or questions about your order, we would greatly appreciate it if you would please convo us prior to leaving feedback. Our reputation is very important to us - we love our customers and want them to love us back! DollFood is both friendly and reasonable, and want to help you if you aren't thrilled with your purchase. Just talk to us and we promise to do everything we can to help you out.
Additional policies and FAQs
DollFood guarantees that the item sent to you is the item described in the listing. Items listed under Vintage are genuinely vintage items to the best of our knowledge. Due to the nature of Vintage items there will be some expected wear. We do our best to list each major imperfection but we are only human (well, some of us are, anyway!) and may miss some things. By choosing to purchase from DollFood, you are agreeing to accept the items "as is." Contact us prior to purchase with any questions you may have so you can be sure the goodies you get from DollFood will meet your needs. We really want you to be thrilled with your DollFood finds!
Besides helping to keep me and my fellow rescue furry siblings in treats and toys, a portion of all profits gained through DollFood helps support Hearts United for Animals: http://www.hua.org/
We donate to HUA every year because of all the amazing work they do to save companion animals. HUA is the only reason my sister and I didn't have to spend our entire lives giving birth to puppy after puppy in unhealthy and uncaring puppy mills. My little sister, Besa, has a deformed useless front leg that is likely the result of poor cage maintenance and lack of basic veterinary care as a puppy. She gets around well enough to bite and hang on my long, floppy ears when I don't want to play with her, but I still wish she could run as fast as me so we could someday play a real game of "chase." (Well...maybe it's better this way since I can jump up on the back of the couch to get away from her snapping jaws.) Anyway, thank God for the angels at HUA!
