DollyMadison's Shop Announcement

Due to the exorbitant fees on Etsy that nearly have me broke, I've moved to Storenvy: http://dollymadison.storenvy.com
I've stopped doing polymer clay, and am turning to watercolor art.

DollyMadison's Shop Policies

Welcome

You are walking down the boardwalk when you come to a little shop with a sign reading "Dolly Madison Designs" in old fashioned script . Curious, you push open the door and a tiny tinkling bell announces your presence. You are greeted by a hedgehog who waddles over to you and sniffs at your feet. That's Otis.
You step around him and survey the shop. It's rather small, very cozy and warm. On the walls hang paintings of locations and old portraits, labeled with dates and names (from which you draw that there is a genealogist somewhere about). There are curtains on the windows, lamps on the tables and a large sofa and several armchairs. The biggest one is currently occupied by a cat, who contemplates you placidly. You find Otis snuffling at your heels, urging you on; and as you advance, you find that there is another table against a wall. At first you couldn't tell that it was a table (for it is quite neatly covered with 'stuff', very nicely resembling the scene of a small hurricane), but now looking closer, you see that you have discovered the hideout of the proprietress of the shop.
*stands and bows*
Pleased to meet you! Welcome to my shop. I'm Dolly, I'm seventeen years old, and I sell polymer clay buttons, bears, pet sculptures and etsy banner and avatar sets. I see you've met Otis--isn't he cute?

*from behind the table rises a huge mass of fur that you realize is a dog- a St.Bernard, to be exact.*

This is Tiny. He's not.

*leans against table and jerks thumb towards cat*

That's Ruprecht. He does the inspecting before orders are shipped. But he doesn't shed. I wouldn't go so far as to call him hairless, but you shouldn't find any cat hairs in your order. Though you might find a cat. He's a bit of a menace sometimes. Steals ice cream.

*turns back to table*

Next year I'm going to start carrying pencil portraits, too. I have two I"m doing before that happens, though. I keep myself occupied making buttons, graphic design, drawing portraits, and researching for a biography I'm working on!
Enjoy your stay, do!
*plucks hedgehog off your leg* Sorry about that. He's just being friendly.

{To see past banners I've done, skip over to my sub-shop, Dolleymadison.etsy.com. There's a list on the profile so you can get an idea of what I can do. :)

~Contrary to what the anecdote may lead you to believe, my home is catless, dogless, and hedgehogless. Chickens don't shed, so that doesn't count!

Payment

In the shop we've had a lot of debate on this issue. By 'we', I mean Otis the hedgehog, Tiny the dog, Reuprecht the cat, and I. Otis wants pay in rotten leaves and logs (he like bugs so, you see), Tiny prefers cherry pie, Reuprecht adores minced pickled herring, and as for myself, I am a bit ordinary since I prefer Pay Pal. I accept gold and silver too.

Shipping

::I ship all my orders once a week, most usually Tuesdays. There's a special on pickled herring that day at the butchers. ::

After much experimentation in this field, we have resigned ourselves to shipping Priority First Class. US mail service. I've tried using Tiny to deliver packages, but he tends to cause heart attacks when he arrives at the customer's door, so we retired that idea. I also have tried carrier pigeon, but after Ruprecht thwarted that one...Well, let's just stick to conventional methods shall we? It's safer.
*glances down at small print*
International buyers are responsible for any customs or home country taxes assessed on their item. I will try to send your purchase within three or four days of payment. I cannot be responsible for the items after they are shipped--mainly I add this because Tiny has the tendency to chew on mailpersons who are careless with my boxes.

Refunds and Exchanges

I try to pack your purchase as securely as possible. However, due to the carelessness of a postal handler or hedgehog, the piece may become damaged. If the packing shows evidences of MY failure to pack properly, or shows bite marks from Otis, contact me right away (photos would help)via tin can phone or otherwise. If I come to the conclusion that it is my responsibility, I will refund you to the fullest extent of my ability. Hedgehog not included.

Additional Policies and FAQs

I've often been asked whether my buttons are washing machine safe. I threw an unglazed test button (which had my traditional rose pattern) into a load of darks, and it came out nearly unscathed ( I say nearly because it looked a bit 'polished' on the corners--from being banged around so much, you know. But I don't think it's anything that would make a difference, and I'd willingly do it again with another button. I have yet to try it with a more delicate patterned button, but I shall post the results when I do. :)

I try very hard to represent the product as is, but there may be a slight difference in color due to your screen or my camera. I do not assure that the product will exactly match the picture. :)

Custom orders! I love custom orders. Contact me! Banners, buttons, graphics, anything else........

Damages-If your item breaks, usually a strong hobby glue will do the trick. :) If your item is broken but not shattered, you can get polymer clay yourself and cement it back on, then bake according to package directions. I'm open to discussion if you want repair work done. My dog can slobber on it, if nothing else works.
