From the time I was little, I can remember my mom making items at home to sell at local craft fairs. I remember thinking how fun it was to watch her putting together pins or sewing dresses. I was intrigued and it was then that I realized that crafting was something I'd like to pursue. I have always had an interest in crafting and making things with my own hands. Making hemp necklaces with colorful beads and selling them in a local store, are some of my first memories of crafting and falling in love with the art of making things by hand. When Pinterest first came out, I would get lost for hours on the site and I remember coming across a pin of a fall themed wreath that someone made while her baby was napping. I thought it was beautiful and decided to give it a try. Oh my gosh, it took me hours and hours to make!! I couldn't figure out how she made it look so easy, or how quickly she said she made it. But, I continued to practice and I made a few for family and friends. They all encouraged me to continue making more, and that I should consider selling them. Fast Forward to 2014 during one of our big family dinners, we got to talking about starting an Etsy Shop and from there DonnaAndTheGirls was born. I made wreaths, my mom sewed, and my sisters made jewelry and drawings. And while he wasn't officially part of the name, our dad was a huge contributor by building custom sized boxes to ship certain wreaths out. Although they are all still very creative and crafty, they no longer wanted to maintain listings in the shop, so I have maintained it over the last few years with mostly just wreaths that I create, as well as, a few other items. My family and friends remain my biggest supporters and hype crew as I start to delve into my expanded interests of vinyl, sublimation, sign making, etc. and with their encouragement, I've decided to change the name of the shop to reflect these changes and that is how JustJennyFromTheShop came to life! I'm excited to continue to sell on this platform and expand the products that I'm able to offer. When I'm not crafting, I enjoy spending time with my husband, my family which now includes my 6 month old twin nieces, and snuggling with my big, slobbery dog.
