5 out of 5 starsI love this small dish...high quality and artwork. I use these as gifts for occasions when something small but worthwhile is appropriate...I have filled with treats or pencils or bath soaps, etc. Once: a stick of pure Irish butter! These Donna McGee small dishes are always appreciated!

5 out of 5 starsI love it! Handy size, sturdy but not klunky and a fun design. The seller was very helpful, too. I recommend.

I come from a tradition of functional work, and continued to be inspired by the deliberate act of making well-designed forms on a daily basis.
My first trip to Europe my early 20’s, after years of art history classes, confirmed a commitment to a life long study of art within a cultural context. Combining the creation of functional pottery with a surface treatment that channels passion for historical uses of pattern, color, and design, sustains and nurtures my work.
I work with stoneware in high-fire reduction salt/soda firing, red earthenware clay fired in oxidation, and any and all materials and techniques that move me forward.
Surface treatment: As Manet said, “I am a realist. I paint what I see.”
As the painter Greg Stone said, “I don’t paint exactly what I see. You change things, exaggerate things like color or line…the light changes, the wind changes, smell and sounds change.”
My motivation: to make the best pots, and have those be pots that I love.

I make pots and tiles in my studio in bucolic western Massachusetts. Many of the motifs on my pots are inspired by the constant sketching of fields, flowers, fauna around me. Drawing and ceramics and family and health are my life. www.donnamcgee.com
