Before there were kids, there was Penny
About a year after we started dating, we brought home a fluffy goldendoodle puppy named Penny. She was our first baby. She got the birthday parties, the too-many-toys, and the very first "who's getting up with her at 2am?" talks.
Then our family grew, and so did the chaos. Busy mornings. Loud bedtimes. Who brushes first. Bath night. "Just one more show!" Penny took it all in stride. She's a big sister to everybody now, and she still thinks every family meeting is about her.
So we started sketching ideas at the kitchen table. Charts, picture cards, little stories, even silly songs. Simple things to make the hard parts of the day a little easier and a lot more fun. Of course, Penny ended up as the star of every one.
