Announcement    CURRENTLY ON HIATUS
I am taking a break from this store for an indefinite amount of time. See my instagram for more details on why I'm doing this.
If you have an order that's still open, don't worry, I'll still be processing and shipping it as per the processing time when you placed the order. You can still check my policies for shipping times and I will still be responding to messages! :)
Take care my friends, and I hope to be back soon, rested and ready to go again! <3

I have some other stores that are currently open and will remain open during this hiatus:
beyondindigouk.etsy.com for handmade watercolour, gouache, acrylic and oil paints
slowdriftdesigns.etsy.com for digital and graphic design assets
alycewoodartist.etsy.com for digital/printable artwork, soon to also be original artwork

About Doodlepeople

Sales 44,356
On Etsy since 2016

I want people who never feel seen to feel seen. Doodlepeople aims to provide representation and inclusion for those who rarely find it.

Shop members

  • Alyce Wood

Owner, Creator, And Almost Everything Else!

She/they. Queer. Autistic, ADHD, OCD, turbo anxiety. I also write, produce music, lift heavy things, make paint and tame a wild toddler in sunny Leeds with my husband.

  • Mr Doodle

    Dispatcher, Assistant

My husband. He/him. Helps me with bits and bobs when he's around. Usually packaging. Aim is to employ him part- and then full-time eventually.

  • Twig

    Actual Boss, Professional Get-in-the-way-er

Twig is really the brains and the eye candy of Doodlepeople, honestly. He's cute, hardworking and doesn't get in the way at all. Not one bit.

Production partners

  • An enamel pin specialist

    Kunshan, China

I work closely with this enamel pin specialist to turn my enamel pin designs into finished products! My enamel pins are the only items in my shop that are not physically made in house by me. Everything else is made by me, in house, with my own two hands.

Frequently asked questions

Custom and personalised orders

Message me for custom orders!
If you'd like to request a pin be added my design list, which I work through at my own pace, please go to this form: forms.gle/PAsZS6a9rEVNSuRB9
I also have a listing where you can get a custom hello pin more quickly, at a cost, here: www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1439431298/custom-hello-pin-rush-order-hello-i
If I make a custom for you, I reserve the right to sell it in my store to anybody at normal price if I so wish. It is my artwork. Of course, I'd never do this for personalised items with names, dates, etc. But regular custom is fair game.

P.s. no I won't make "hug terfs", "anti vax", "the earth is flat", "vaccines cause autism" etc. pins. Go somewhere else for nonsense, ta.

Wholesale availability

Any pins, patches or prints can be ordered in bulk and I can provide a wholesale price upon request, just ping me a message! There is a minimum unit order for bulk discounts; the more you order the better deal you'll get, up to 60% off.

If you wish to discuss me manufacturing pins, patches, etc. with your logo, please contact me. I take orders like this at my own discretion depending on my workload and am always happy to discuss.

Patch care information

For embroidered patches, follow the patch application/care instructions closely. A gentle cold wash is best. :)

Don't worry though, I send out patch care instructions with every patch order. If you lose your instructions, just let me know and I can send them digitally :)

What happens when I mark my order as a gift?

All the "mark as gift" option does is remove the price from the packing slip; and you can also include an optional gift message for free.

Marking your order as a gift ~does not~ mean your order is going to come gift wrapped. If you would like your order gift wrapped, please select the additional gift wrap option at check out and the cost will be added to your order.

Please be aware if you are outside the EU I have to declare the contents and value of your order on a CN22 customs label on the outside of the parcel. I have no choice but to do this (if I don't it may not get through), so be aware if you're sending directly the recipient they may read the CN22 and know what's inside (but it will not be specific, just like "pin button badge").

What service is used to ship my order?

I ship with Royal Mail, who hand over to your local delivery service. I ship every week day; I don't ship on the weekends.

UK: almost everything is sent second class, unless you upgrade.
Outside UK: default is International Standard (Airmail).

Your order is NOT TRACKED as standard.
Please do not message me asking for a tracking number if you did not pay for tracking.

You can upgrade to a tracked service at checkout BUT except in the case of UK next day, this doesn't make delivery quicker unfortunately. Processing time (the time before your order ships) does not change regardless of shipping service.

I'm sorry about high shipping prices on larger items but I have to cover costs.

Need it ASAP? PLEASE message me BEFORE you order! :)

Do you use plastic packaging?

No.
All my packaging is 100% plastic free and a lot of it is recycled. I print packing slips on recycled paper and your order will be packaged in a paper candy bag within a card envelope. I may also use a bit of paper tape to seal the envelope.

Some orders have to be sent in mailer bags but they're biodegradable (usually potato starch) and my "cello" sleeves that prints and greeting cards come in are also biodegradable.

PLEASE BE AWARE, my packaging is VERY minimal. It is designed to protect your items during delivery and that is it.
I'm not pumping extra garbage into the earth when we're already in an environmental crisis, so please don't expect a lot of bells and whistles at the expense of our planet, because you will not get that here.

Is your packaging discreet?

Yes. Your order will be sent in one of the following: a brown card backed envelope; a plain brown cardboard box; a plain white cardboard box; a brown cardboard tube; a grey biodegradable mailbag; a cream semi-transparent potato starch mailbag.
In the case of that last one, they're for t-shirts and the tees are folded inwards so you can't actually see what it is. This is both to deter mail theft and also to keep the contents discreet - I know some of my items could put the recipient at risk in some situations.
I have to fill out the customs form but it's always generic ("pin button badge", "t-shirt", "polyester backpack", "ceramic mug") etc.
If you need special discreet packaging INSIDE the package too, message me and I'll sort it for you.

COVID-19 information and information for immunocompromised individuals

I make and package all my items in as clean and safe a way as possible, with multiple rounds of hand washing. I always package in a clean space.
Anybody who helps me with packaging or making items is also expected to follow the same hygiene rules.
I do not package or send orders when I am unwell with anything contagious.

What's the processing time?

The processing time is the time before your order ships.
I do not have stock (pre-made items).
I make everything in house (myself with my own two hands) and I make everything to order (I do not make anything unless it has actually been ordered).
This is why the processing times can sometimes seem long (e.g. 1-2 weeks for an embroidered patch - because I need to run my embroidery machine to make that patch).
Here's the main thing I'd like to say and I say this with all the love in the world because I appreciate you buying from me so much, but: you are not my only customer.
That is why my processing times are the length that they are. Because I have to get everyone's orders done, not just yours.
Also I'm human & neurodivergent. Bear with me.

Why do you use mockup photos?

Mockup: a digital rendering of a physical product, edited on a computer to show different versions or designs without physically making each iteration of the item.
I have many different designs and as a neurodivergent person myself it's difficult to make, photograph, edit and list lots of items and different designs (also it's quite tedious what's up executive dysfunction).
Mockups allow me to make new designs available sooner and in a less daunting way for myself, and having nice clear bright mockup photos also gives my store a uniform appearance and keeps everything clear for the people who are looking for and viewing my items as well. :)
I do always try and have "real" photos to accompany the mockups, where and whenever possible.
