About

Art & Family

James and I are both originally from St. Louis, as are our parents. James went to Meramec Community College and studied with Bob Allen, a very talented potter. My family moved to Iowa and then to Southern Illinois to get back to the St. Louis Area, where most of extended family is. After high school I attended Southern Illinois University of Carbondale and received my BFA in Ceramics, studying with Steve Grimmer & Harris Deller. After college I moved back to St. Louis and greatly missed my art community!

I looked for a new community of artists in the St. Louis Area and found the Foundry Art Centre in St. Charles. James had a studio at The Foundry ; ) We met, started dating two days later, were engaged within three weeks and married six months later!

When we were expecting our first little man Henry, we bought a house and moved our studio there! Working from home is fantastic! It allows us flexibly as parents and saves us on studio rent!

As of two months ago, we are a family of five: James (35), Myself (Elizabeth, 34), Henry (5), Theodore (3, and Galilee (1 1/2). We are love making Babies & Pottery and Living Life!
