Updates

This monarch ornament has been popular today at my Spring Art Show. I've been hearing a lot about using it as a memorial or as a gift in honor of lost loved ones this year. I'll still have a few ready to ship after the show too.
I can't thank all of you enough for letting my ornaments be a part of your holiday traditions this year! Each story you shared, photo you sent, and #givecheer tag you used has given new meaning to what I do. Thank you all so very much. See you next year!
I made more... And I'm still taking orders until tomorrow for shipping via USPS First Class Mail! Shipping upgrades are available too. Or I can ship right to your recipient with a gift tag - use their shipping address, and leave your note at checkout.

About

Inspired by the Tree of Life

I take great pride in having developed Phylogeny Art.

My brand of stationery allows nature lovers to communicate their love and respect of nature while also making someone's day more beautiful. My glass ornaments are hand-painted treasures that celebrate the beauty of nature, and also become cherished additions to family traditions at holiday homes around the world.

But what is Phylogeny? (I'm so glad you asked.)

Phylogeny is the scientific study of the relationships between all living things, and is generally known as the "tree of life." That family tree consists of some beautiful, delicate, colorful, and powerful creatures. They interact with each other. They thrive because of each other. Those relationships and interactions make our world as beautiful and complex as it is.

Phylogeny is a large part of my life - and not just in my art. I'm a scientist with a Ph.D. in Biochemistry.

Behind my plain white lab coat I'm the artist, designer, owner and resident soul of Phylogeny Art.

Being a scientist requires careful attention to detail - I can't turn that off, and it shows in my artistic style. My paintings include intricate details, from the architecture of butterfly wings, to adding the face mask details on each of the tiny cardinals in each birch tree of a glass ornament.

If you have any questions about my paintings or my products, have a suggestion or a request for something special for customization, or even if you'd just like to share your love of nature with me I'd love to hear from you!

Thanks for reading this bit of the story,
Stephanie

I love to paint. It relaxes me, it inspires me, it gives me joy. I'm not trained as an artist - I'm a trained scientist with a PhD. Behind my plain white lab coat, I'm the owner, designer, artist and resident soul of Phylogeny Art.

I work with a local printer to have all of my notecards and giclee prints made just down the road. We've worked together to carefully match the coloring and level of detail of their printing to my original paintings.
