Updates

The holiday shopping season has officially begun. Four weeks till I can rest!
One benefit of a recently-retired spouse is getting to eat lots of from-scratch experiments. Today it was sesame hummus. I'll make the crockery and she can fill it.
A mid-afternoon pick-me-up from my wife's favorite mug. I sure am glad they have decided that coffee is good for us after all!

About

A little bit about me

Ceramics hooked me 20 years ago the first time I sat at a wheel. I fell in love with clay and everything about making pottery. Trusting to serendipity I left teaching and enrolled in a 2-year professional crafts program. After graduation I built a home studio and I have never looked back. I savor this independent and creative life.

I love creating handmade pottery and selling it to a worldwide audience. I take joy in shepherding my pieces from throwing, to trimming, to firing, to glazing and to firing again with mounting anticipation. The hours may be long and exhausting but it is time spent joyfully absorbed in the moment! I feel so lucky to do what I love.

Everything in my shop was created by me on my pottery wheel here in the mountains of western North Carolina. I take pleasure in bringing clay and color together to create useful, beautiful things for you to enjoy every day for a lifetime. My shop philosophy is simple: to offer quality, functional handmade pottery with outstanding customer service.

Frequently asked questions

Gift wrapping and packaging

You can have a gift shipped directly to the recipient and I will be happy to include a note so they know it's from you. There is a place to change the shipping address at checkout and you can leave your note for the gift card in the message box. I do not include an invoice.

I securely package my pottery for shipment in two nesting boxes. In the rare instance of breakage during domestic shipping, I immediately replace the loss.

Wholesale availability

I prefer dealing directly with my buyers so I do not accept wholesale orders.

Care instructions

All my pottery is made with food-safe glazes and may be used in the microwave, dishwasher and oven. For oven use, place the pottery in a cold oven before preheating.

Sizing details

Due to the handmade nature of my work there will be slight variations between the piece in the photos and the one you are purchasing. All sizes listed are approximate. My glazes flow in the firing, so each piece has a unique pattern.
