Announcement   Truth began painting in 1996, and has been represented by galleries in California, Arizona, Indiana, New York, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. He has sold many hundreds of paintings through galleries, online sales, art shows, studio shows, trunk shows, all kinds of shows. He took Mark Kostabi's sage art advice: show everywhere.

Art, in my not so humble opinion, should be dedicated to raising peoples' spirits. Enough concepts, ideas, words, disagreements, and so on. I think paintings, or pictures, or even beautiful items of daily use, can take us out of that latter realm of words, and into the world of pure experience. I certainly hope that it can and does.

I love to sell my work; it's how I make my living. But the greatest joy, and I'm not blowing smoke here, is helping to bring some small—or large!— measure of joy, peace, wonder, humor, and spirit into each of our lives.

After a serious illness in 1998 Truth closed his business in order to devote himself entirely to painting and writing. "After such a confrontation, or voyage, or whatever it was," he said, "you find out what is really important to you. I found that out, and am fortunate enough now to be able to do it."

Truth has done performance work with The Black Valley in Grass Valley, CA. He was a founding member and president of the board (2002-2006) of the Storefront Artist Project in Pittsfield, MA. He wrote and published three books, I Am A Dog, Revolution of Flowers, and Everything I Know About Death (Subject to Verification). He is currently most engrossed in performing his stage monolog: An Intimate Evening with Death, Herself.

Once this print is framed, I will post a photo. Meanwhile, let it suffice to say that this is my favorite by this artist, and just so happens to be his, as well! The colors in this print are so striking and vivid, I'm both amazed and thrilled to have the privilege of having this piece in my home. Douglass Truth's artwork speaks to me in volumes. In one word, this man and his art are nothing less than breathtaking!

This super cute 12"x24" multiple original is now ready to go out. This is one of my own favorites and I really love this piece. The print you see here is smaller than the original and it really works. Only $165 for this size - thanks for liking us!
Viraja spraying our latest small print order . We're not a big factory; we do everything ourselves! We can do the canvas prints in several sizes, all with thick hand-painted black edges- just like the originals, and instantly ready to hang on your wall.
In my workspace up in the Sierra Nevada mountains - Viraja shooting me (photographically!) holding one of her splendid paper prints of one of my favorite (it's in a place of honor in our little house) pieces, Dinner In The Hallway. (Ie the Underworld.)

About

Raising People's Spirits for 17 Years.

I started painting in my forties with no prior training, teaching, or inkling that I had an inclination for art. I started selling almost immediately - good thing, because I had had to sell my screenprinting business due to health problems - brain damage! Now I'm all better but no one knew that was possible when I had my brain infection.

I did a lot of both retail and wholesale work before I ever started painting, and so having a shop or store to sell my wares comes easy and makes perfect sense. I worked with galleries in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, Arizona, California, and Indiana - but after the 2008 crash many of them went out of business, and I found that I really enjoyed the flexibility that selling direct gave me and my partner.

And so now this is what we do. We hope you like it - please favorite us, or follow, if you don't mind. Every little bit helps. Thanks!

Shipping
We try to ship originals out in two to three days, and we use USPS with tracking numbers. If we are traveling shipping may take longer, and we will let you know if this is the case.

Reproductions on canvas take longer to ship since they need to be made first. If we have everything in stock for this it should be shipped in 7 days from the date of order. If special requests, like a different size reproduction, this may take a few days more. If you are buying this because you would like this to arrive in a certain timeframe, because this is a gift for example, please let us know ahead of time if possible so that we can make sure we will be able to ship this out to you in time.

If you would like us to ship to Europe or any other country outside of the USA we will be happy to do so, and will need to figure out the shipping costs, so let us know if you would like us to do so.

Shipping for all prints and photo's is free inside the USA, for international shipping, again, please contact us.

If you would like us to ship an archival print or original painting as a gift to a friend or family member, please let us know - we can add your message to the package and send it out directly to them.

We would like you to be happy with the painting you bought, and we realize that the internet can not always show off the work as well as we would like it to - so you can always visit our studio in Tucson to see the paintings, or contact us about possible other locations.

If you would like to buy a paining, and are hesitating of how this will look in your home, we will offer the option of full a refund (excluding return shipping costs) in seven days of you receiving the painting.

Therefore please keep the original packaging, and send the items back to us using the original packaging so that it will all arrive safely.

And, as always, if you really love a painting, please don't hesitate to contact us if there is anything we can do to help you make it work for you in order for to take it home with you.
