Faire Pottery at a Fair Price

Down the Road Clayworks started as a vending booth that allowed me to participate in the renaissance fairs and many Celtic festivals/Highland games held across Oregon.

I bring my human-powered kick-operated potter's wheel to the fairs and demonstrate the art and craft of throwing pottery without electricity. It's a great way for people to see an ancient craft still in practice today.

My booth is often a child's first experience with pottery and clay work and it's always a "kick" seeing them get hypnotized by the process. I also love chatting with art teachers and brainstorming fun ways to introduce arts and crafts to the younger generations.

My goal is not only to put more beautiful functional art in the world but to also fan the flames of creativity for those who will follow after me.

I hope you will take a look around and maybe you'll find something that catches your eye! Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers,

Hello! I'm Chase, I started Down the Road Clayworks as a small outlet for my pottery when I was in school. After graduation I studied under a potter near the OR coast. I moved to the city two years later and now I'm producing my own work full-time!
