About

The Beginnings of Dragon on the Fly

Hi everyone and welcome to our etsy shop for unique handcraft mobiles and nursery décor.

Being a stay at home mum with 2 kids, a single income household it was becoming increasingly difficult to make ends meet - especially in CA. I still remember the time I had to sell my jewelries - it was very difficult for me since I didn't own much to start with.

Fortunately, the universe gave a push and I stumbled across an article about Esty and how mothers were making extra cash selling their craft online. After months of procrastinating and wondering if I could really do this, $20 and a Michaels store nearby "Dragon On The Fly" was born. Honestly, it was really scary, there's always a tiny voice in your head saying "no one going to buy that".

I have always love origami, so my first mobile incorporated origami, "Cherry Ball mobile" and my store has evolved from there. When I sold my first mobile I was thrilled, I couldn't believed it! "Someone liked my work". So thank you to my first customer - you gave me the encouragement to keep going with my store.

These days I'm drowning in orders, but every time I get an order I still get excited and thank God for every "cha chin". My house is in a continue state of mess, dinner is always late, and some night I don't get to bed until after I see my kids to school, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Dragon on the fly has now became a family business, the hubby and kids help out on the weekends. My daughter is always making things and asking if I could sell it for her, on the condition that she receives the proceed from the sale. I believed she's a little me - her crafting skill is growing and one day I may just list something she made. Shame her cleaning skill hasn't gotten any better.

We take great pride in our products and make everything with care and love. So, thank you for stopping by and we hope you will find something beautiful and unique for you little one.
