My name is Nicki, and I’ve been an artist longer than I can remember. Always sketching and painting as a kid, so going to art school was a natural thing to do after high school graduation. After several decades as a graphic designer, I now work full time as a fine artist from my home studio in historic downtown Leesburg, Florida.
My paintings are typically made with acrylic paint in an intuitive and somewhat loose style on paper, canvas, wood or found / salvaged materials. I’ve learned to listen to my intuition when it comes to subject and inspiration. The final result may not look at all like what I thought it would, and that makes the creation of art magical for me. It’s an alchemy where paint and substrate combined with intuition and trust brings in a feeling that wasn’t there before. My mission as an artist is to create a positive impact by making art that uplifts, and my mission as a human is to live with joy and compassion.
I’m drawing on my heart for inspiration, and for the courage to put my work out there. Each painting I make is an act of love. Creating these love offerings fills my heart with light, and it’s my hope these tokens of love make your life even that more joyful.
